I can totally relate! When I get stressed I too get the fever blisters. My daughter and my son get them, too. My son will be going on his first deployment in about a week! When he came home on leave and he had to leave here, I took him to the airp...

First Deployment

My son and his wife are here on leave. He'll be being to deployed to a undesirable area. She'll be giving birth to their first child while he's there. It'll be 7 months before I see him again and in 2 days I'll be taking them to the airport. I just don't know how I can make it through this. Is there anyone out there that has been through this too and can give me some kind of support? I feel like I'm going to lose my mind even though I have to be strong at the airport. It doesn't seem like life c… Continue

I'm proud of myself!

I'm proud of myself because we took Tyler to the airport yesterday and I didn't cry! I had on my big girl panties. Hehe! He was home on leave for 16 days. It was so nice to have him home. He was proud of me for not killing his fish. I tried not to, but, one jumped out of the tank. Not my fault. I will still miss him dearly, but, he is closer to home. Well, a 14 hour drive away or cheap airline ticket. I think I was just excited for him. He has always wanted to go to Washington and now he'll be a… Continue

Relieved!!

Tyler e-mailed me today and said he got his orders. He will be at Whidbey Island, Washington. I'm so happy! The picture of the island are so pretty. Now I can't wait to go see him! Has anyone ever been there before? He will be cooking for VAQ airsquad, so he has shore duty.

Just got your friend request. My daughter will not be in Afghanistan until the end of the month She will be the operating room nurse in a camp there. I don't know where yet. So, I can't you help much now. When is your son supposed to go? Maybe I will know something by then.

Hi Tammy ~ wow, sounds like you've got a lot going on in your life right now! I empathize with you and If you'd like to chat with me sometimes I would be happy to encourage you. I'm sure you will figure out ways to encourage your son through his deployment and support his wife and your grandchild too. Just breathe and take it one day at a time. And if you're a praying woman that always helps too. Sherry
