My Son is stationed in Guam. My husband and I would love to travel to Guam and surprise him. Has anyone traveled to Guam? If so please help with recommended Hotel/travel ideas.

New Years Eve John Heads off to GUAM!!!

Wow!!! John's off to Guam and I can truly say this was not as hard as sending him off to Boot Camp. We understand that it might be a year or so before we get to see him again. We've purchased a world map to hang in our family room to begin tracking his travels.

It is only a small island, but there are many things to do, if one takes the time to learn. I learnt to sail there at the Navy boat club, did not cost a lot. Took any inland island trips, there are some nice waterfalls. If one gets to know the island folks they have great fiesta's. Also, there is a brand new USO there, and I bet they have all kinds of trips one can sign up for. There is an awful lot of WWII history there. I would go back in a heart beat. Yes, the flights are expensive. Hope you get to go. jan

I had an uncle that was in a sub when he was in the navy. I heard that was tough, because you stay out longer or something.
I will keep John in my prayers as well!

Hi Tammy, thanks for helping me out. Unfortunately Admin had me take down the discussion, because it was considered soliciting, which stinks, but I understand that. I'm going to try and tell everyone how it turned out on some kind of blog or something on here when I figure this whole sight out

Jimmy is a Gas Turbine Mechanic, and is stationed at a marine base in cali. What about your.. son? I haven't gotten to read your page yet.

Thanks so much for the help!
