My son PIR on 8/7/09. He is in Groton for SECF. All of his training is in CT. He also stated that most that come from BC come in on Tuesdays. Just thought you would like to know what I have been told by my sailor.
I too was a military spouse, many moons ago. What Mag's article has to say is so true. Now my son is in the Navy (no daughter-in-law yet) but does give us Mom's something to remember. Thank you for posting this article.
My son called just a little after 4pm. I was only 1 hour from being in Chicago that day for PIR.

- Teresa, he will be in AECF which is at Great Lakes so at least he will be close by for a while after basic. I work straight nights too on the SICU and I'm on all weekend. Again, thanks for the insight, makes it easier knowing what to expect and what not to expect!!

I have only heard from my son once since he has been at BC. Which was the form letter with his two lines tagged at the end. He is Div 264/7112. I am assuming his PIR is on 7/31 because I am booking my plane ticket for that week....I hope you hear from your son soon.
PS is that a dachshund in your picture? I have a long haired one myself...
