- About me:
- Hhhmmm...live in Las Vegas with one significant other, 3 dogs, 4 horses, 9 chickens and 2 goldfish. Nope, I do not live the "Las Vegas" life. I spend lots of time in my son's room probably trying to hold on to a piece of him (and I moved the computer in here). Chad is my one and only child...I was once asked why I did not have more children...my response was that I did it perfect the first time!!! I work in Transportation/Logistics. It is strange, I find that I am working less hours now that Chad is on his own, than I did when he was here. I wish I could hit the rewind button on that and do it over again. I was so excited for him when he joined the Navy....now I am just "son-sick"...I miss him terribly.

- Was concerned or afraid, Encouraged him/her
- From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
- Patience!!!!!! and I am reverting back to taking a deep breath and counting to ten when I am about to lose it. Seriously though, I can't help but smile when I hear from my son and how upbeat and eager he is. The Navy recieved a boy who had no focus and was just floating through life and has created a young man who has a vision of his future now.
- Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
- Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

- Hey there stranger! Sorry I haven't been around lately - work went crazy when I got home from Norfolk. It's too much to try to explain, so I'm just moving away from it for awhile! How was your visit with Chad??? How is the job??? See I have a lot to catch up on!!! hahahahahahaha!!!!
Danny is coming home for his leave on July 2nd, and has given me a list of dinners he wants me to cook for him!!! Lord, I can't wait - Norfolk was fun getting to see him, but it wasn't anything like him being AT HOME, so that is what is going on with me. Hope to hear from ya soon! Have a great day!

- Wow! I messed around and managed to delete my comment...lol Clicking too fast....oh well, I'm glad my comment helped you. If you ever get a chance to go on the Tiger Cruise, try to make it. It helped me sympathize with what they must go through....

- Hi Teri, Yes it is quite an adjustment for them in the early years I think. I don't even think they know what to feel. I think she is having trouble being by herself after being on the ship with someone around all the time. The first day she was back in her apt., I called and she sounded so down and depressed. When I talked to her later she was at a friend house. Even now, it will take some time for them to resettle I think. Take heart! It will get better....

- I would think so. Just make sure she knows not to move, it will be hard to find her in the crowd! My DIL planned to do the same for me, so I don't think there will be a problem. I hope that you all have a wonderful time!

sharon said… - Hi Teri.....lol....thank you thank you. Jeremy's going to be a wreck......he dosen't get his dress whites till literally right befor the ship comes in;). They know he's going though, and CMDR Trovinger promised he'd be outfitted properly;). I got the kids a place out at the beach, I'm only staying one night ( so far)( the night before I'm going to take Melissa out for a nice late supper, after the night before thing.....she's a wreck already, I know she's going to be a mess that night;) after, to babysit....that depends on wedding plans;). James has leave in May.....and they'll be comming here.....so I want the kids to have their .....alone time:). I just want to hug on him a little bit. Lol....and get pics!!!!! Thank you again so much for writing back.....I'll see ya in VA:)!

- Hi teri we are staying at the crown plaza in virginia, beach. i'll email you the address and my cell phone # we will be there 2 days before the tr comes in and then be there til the following tuesday. we used 89 so far and still have a couple of calves to tag. all but 2 cows have calved. lost one cow and no calves. which is pretty good. grass is finally coming on and cows look good. next week we get heifers and the good cows ready for AI. then put bulls in the 29th of march. we gather and brand the first weekend in April. my boss is selling her stud. hes a black and white paint, 20 yrs and dam near bomb proof. lol. spins light mouth and only a $1000.00 if i could afford it i'd geld him and make him husbands horse but funds are there so i hope a good family gets him.

Claudia said… - We stayed at the hilton on the strip. We have a timeshare there. But after last weekend. We sold that one and now have the one at the flamingo. I couldn't pass it up. I love the hilton vacation club. It's a good deal. David was trying out at nulv. But I know I can't afford it, and not sure if he did too good.

- Hi Teri, just got done watching the Game. Husband wanted Steelers and i wanted cardinials to win. Oh well it was a good game and was glad it wasn't a blowout. King City is south of us. i was there last summer to watch a friend son (matt austin) show one of the steers from the ranch. His mother Kim bought my quarter horse mare Tara. They click whereas Tara and I just butted heads. but i was able to buy Hank and we click. LOL. The Pink eartags have been a good laugh from everyone. The guys at the local feed store are still talking and laughing about them. God has been good to us as we only have 24 more calves to go and only loss 3. but marie checks the herd twice a day. especially the heifers. I heard from wayne friday, hes homesick but i told him its only 59 days plus a week or two and we'll be seeing him. my email address is basskisser36@hotmail.com. let me know when you go to king city and maybe i can meet you there or around fresno.
