Ok, lol. I thought he just went in...Does he like it? I got a letter yesterday, he said he got to see what Nuke school was like and he thought it was "awesome!" lol. I can understand how hard it must be to have 2 boys go into the service about the same time. It was hard with just him. I have another boy at home, they are 5 years apart, but hes wanting to join as soon as hes able to.
I will definately check out the page on Nukes so I can see what hes going to do, thanks for the info!

Hi! Thanks for adding me as a friend. Have you heard from your son yet? Mine was able to call me last week for the first time! I was so excited! We can't wait to see him the end of this month! Maybe with some luck, they are in the same division and know each other...It would be nice to have a fellow Texan with him!

Hey there from San Antonio, the Ranger tickets might still be available. they are for Monday the 25th, a t-shirt will be sent to show your support for NavyForMoms. go to the Texasmoms page and look at the forum section. The message is "Free Ranger tickets" but you have to do it right away because of them mailing the t-shirt in time. I can't go so there should be 5 tickets available. I'd love to get to know you.

Well darling thank you for that comment about my Arlington trip. It was one of the most heart wrenching things I have ever done. While I was in DC I also went to the Vietnam Wall and just sat for hours reading all the names. Until dark then I moved to the Korean, and then to WWII. During this memorial day lets us not forget all who gave, and those who could give all.
There is such love and support here on this site--you will be amazed at what this place has to offer from states having get togethers, to rooms devoted to your sailors ship/base/country, to belonging to a group that supports our sailors. At every turn here you should meet wonderful loving people, who adore our military (as should be) So very nice to meet you --if there is anything I can ever do for you here just let me know :)
Molly

I would like to invite you to join the group of moms from Texas!! We are the largest state group on this site!! (Everything is bigger in Texas - including Navy Moms)!! We reached 500 members on February 12, 2009. We were one year old on March 8, 2009!!!

Just go to the groups tab and type in Texas in the search box. The icon of the group is the state of Texas, of course!! If you can’t find that, click on my picture to the left and it will take you to my page. You can find the same icon there. Just click on it and you can join us!!

Please leave a short message about where you live and what your sailor is doing. Also, please let us know how you found Navy for Moms.

Profile Information

About me:
I live in South/East Texas in a small town called Newton. We are 11 miles from the LA boarder and about 170 miles North/East of Houston...5 hours South of Dallas, 72 miles North/East of Beaumont. I have three sons two of which are currently serving in the United States Air Force and United States Navy. My youngest will be a senior in High School this next 2009/2010 school year. He will be going into the NUPOC program when he graduates. My husband is a Navy Vietnam War Veteran who currently teaches Mathematics/Physics at the Local High School and for the local community college. I have three step-daughters one of which is married to a Navy Nuclear Officer who just was deployed to Bahrain. He joined the Navy this last August 2009. We are so proud of our Military Men and their desire to serve GOD and Country!
I am here to support or represent my:
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
How grateful my two sons in the military were to get so many letters from Mom while in boot camp. Just how important it is to them to know you love and support them and are so proud of them in their desire to serve God and Country. I also encourage them always as they endeavor to be successful in their chosen fields of study. (Linguists and Nuclear) I am also very grateful for the two best recruiters both of which were Navy recruiters…Chief Tate and Brian Winters AME1.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
