About me:
47-yr-old, mother of 3. Registered nurse. Avid sports fan. May 2008 was a big turning point in my life: my daughter (oldest child) graduated from Georgia Tech on May 3, my son (middle child) reported to Great Lakes on May 7 and the youngest graduated from high school on May 23!! What a month that was!
I am here to support or represent my:
James -- Division 933, Ship 6 -- Now aboard the USS Essex in Sasebo, Japan
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Patience. You are NOT in control anymore. The Navy does things its way...not necessarily the way YOU think they should be done -- and the Navy doesn't want your opinion!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Since you have changed your Username so that it does not include your last name, also do the following so that your webpage address (URL) above does not include your name any more: Look in the upper left hand corner under your picture and information; it says Manage My Page or Photo. Click on My Page. The next screen says My Page Settings. Go down to the Address and in the box next to “http://www.navyformoms.com/profile”, make the change to random letters and numbers or TinaJamesmom or you could put in underscores between the words. Blessings to you and yours.

Tina - I didn't get you message to the group for some reason. Could you send it individually to me or ? I'd like to know what's going on with you and yours...I'm assuming that's what the message concerns.

Here's a post from The Courier with pics, video and article you might like...

check the 7th fleet news too, it tells you what a lot of the ships are up to and posts pictures too.

Katie said she would have 2 days liberty while in Brisbane. If you following the 7th fleet news, you can find out where a lot of the ships are and what they are doing. When they head back to Sasebo they will be stopping at least in Okinawa to off-load Marines.

Hey Tina, will worldwide ATT phone cards work on the ESSEX? Why does it take so long to hear from the Sailors once they arrive on ship? I am sorry to ask so many questions this is all new to me. Thank you in advance for all your help.

Hi Tina,
It will take your son working with Navy Federal to get this cleared up. They are just being protective. But it is so frustraing. I think the reason things are getting so strict - ID theif. Alex's was stolen shortly after he reached his base. But luckily his credit card and the Navy Federal acted together to get it straighten. Good luck - just don't pull out your hair. Terry

Hi Tina,
Thanks for reminding me about the links. I get so busy reading the emails and responding, that I never look. It's like I have tunnel vision. By the way have you purchased any of the items? If so, are you happy with the them? The reason I am asking, I did bring up the site, but it was so light in color, I couldn't see it. Hope this day finds all going the best for you. And that you have heard from your Sailor. Take care Terry
