Ginger the C-2 is a large cargo/supply/mail carrier plane. It does land on carriers, but the crew is mostly land based. If you go up to the discussion section here, jenny has a great picture posted.

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Our Government is truly hurry up and wait and they should give our service people their first set of uniforms etc. free. If we can pay hundreds of dollars on toilet seats and bailouts for Wall Street we should treat the people who are helping to keep us safe better.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hey Trish. Sorry I couldn't reply earlier. Our power was out for about 8 hours. The weather was pretty crazy. There is still 100,000 people without power this morning. It's just a little windy now but the streets are flooded and most of the expressways and tunnels are closed. I seen on the news that the Norfolk base was closed yesterday and today (Trav had the day off anyways). Pretty crazy

Hello!!!
I did brave applebees today! It was quite the experience but well worth it! It was yummo! And they gave Trav a coupon for a free appetizer for the next time we come back. So it was nice. Thank you for letting me know about the tees. Speaking of that, I actually found the website for the vrc-40 store. Here's the website: http://www.vrc40.navy.mil/store.html. On the website, it only lists tshirts for the clothing options, but my husband said that he seen long sleeve shirts and hoodies also. There is a link on the page to email the person in charge of the store and he did say that there long sleeve shirts and hoodies. The long sleeve shirts are $15 and the hoodies are $22. I also asked if we can pay with a check and he stated: "You can send a check to the VRC-40 Officer's mess and I pay the appropriate people." I dont' understand what that means so I will ask my husband when he gets home. I'll let you know if I find something else out!
And thank your sailor for his service as well! They are all my heros!
