Profile Information

About me:
My name is Sage, and I am a Navy Wife! :-)
My husband graduated from BC on August 22. He was in division 940 ship 06. He is now at A school to be an ET (AECF). I am so very proud of my husband. We have one daughter, born March 2008. Because my husband's A school is so long, we were able to move to GL to be with him. He is able to live off base with us, which is very nice. It is wonderful to have my family together again.
I love meeting new people and talking to people who have been through/are going through the same thing... be it wives, girlfriends, parents, etc.! I love talking to anyone who can relate. The support that I have received from complete strangers has been incredibly amazing so far, and I am so grateful.
I am here to support or represent my:

Off to PIR!!!

YAY! It's official! I got a phone call from my husband today. He passed Battlestations and is now a Sailor. I am so proud of him.
I will be leaving very early tomorrow morning for Great Lakes. My in-laws are driving with my daughter and me, and we will be arriving tomorrow evening. I am so excited. I cannot believe it's already time for my husband's PIR. In some ways these two months seem to have really flown by, but, at the same time, it seems like it's been forever since I last saw him. It's f… Continue

Wonderful Surprise

With less than 2 weeks left until my husband's PIR, I was not expecting another phone call until after Battlestations.
How surprised I was yesterday afternoon when my cell started ringing and the area code was that of Great Lakes! I seriously had to look at the phone twice to make sure I wasn't imagining it!
We talked for almost 30 minutes, and it was so wonderful to just hear his voice again. He is doing very well, and he sounded happy, which made me feel good. I am so proud of him. I miss him… Continue

Each Day...

Each day, I wake up from dreams of you and realize, with sadness, you are not beside me.
Each day, I take care of our young daughter and pray that she will recognize you... even just a little bit.
Each day, I kiss her cheeks. I tell her, "One from Mommy. One from Daddy."
Each day, we look at pictuers of you. I say, "That's Daddy." And I always tell your pictures how much I love you and miss you.
Each day, I tell everyone I am doing okay even though inside I feel like I'm falling apart.
Each day,… Continue

First (Real) Phone Call

Finally, after almost 4 weeks, I received my first real phone call from my husband today. I had just gotten home from work, and my daughter and I were on the couch as I read the mail when my cell started ringing. When I saw the GL area code, my heart leapt.
Talking to him was so wonderful. Just to hear his voice made me so happy. I had so many things I wanted to tell him, but the excitement of just hearing him made me forget it all!
He seemed to be pretty happy and doing well, and he said missin… Continue

Hello Sage,

I am the proud mother of a sailor, and a wife of a retired military man. I did a search to find family of sailors on the USS Mitscher. Your name came up. Is your husband on the Mitscher or going to the Mitscher? So far I have not had much luck in finding anyone from the ship. My son has been on the ship for a little over 2 years. Sounds like you have a very nice little family and a lot of support. I remember being a new mother and a wife of a sailor.

Hello, again. We took Andy to his ship. He got checked in and met his CPO who told him that he would not be staying on the Anzio. Andy will be transferred to another ship in Norfolk as soon as they can get the paperwork completed. He will be home for Christmas, (the Anzio allowed him more leave) and then go back to the Anzio to be transferred to the USS Mitscher, we think. It's the needs of the Navy. He'll have less than a year in and two ships already. God bless and Merry Christmas.

Hello again. It's good to hear from you. Glad you are doing well. We picked Andy up at the airport last night. It was very exciting. We didn't get him much to ourselves last night. Some of his high school friends met us back in his hometown and kept him out until after we fell asleep. But, we have him today. Yea! Stay warm and keep in touch.

Hey kiddo. I like the new pics. Well, new to me anyway. It's going well here at home. Andy finally starts A school on the 27th of Oct. He's been on hold and not liking it very much, for the past month. I guess the little Sullie is growing like crazy. Best wishes. Take care.

Hello again, It's going ok. I'm glad you get to be there in GL with your husband. I remeber being a young Navy wife. It goes by so fast. We just celebrated our 27th anniversary. Wouldn't have changed a thing. Cherish the moments you have with him and be strong when he is gone. Andy is still on hold in GL and will start, yes I said start, A school Friday, Oct 24. We hope to see him in mid December. I must go to work now. Talk to you later. God bless you.
