When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
My son was the first to join the military from both sides of the family..all I can say is Wow..What an amazing journey he has taken us all on so far. We could not be more proud of him and our military. The Navy has been the best choice he could have made for his life. The most important thing I have learned is listen to your children...they are usually right!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

ESWOS ??????

Hi Navy moms, needing some special thoughts and prayers going to my sailor. He is in Japan and has been working hard to get his eswos qualification. I believe it stands for Surface Warfare Specialist. He has been taking tests and getting all his stuff signed off. He has the big test on Tuesday...his time...Monday night for us. He is not a good test taker and didnt pass the test the first two times. I believe it is critical for him to pass it this third time. I have been praying hard for him and… Continue

My son is growing up and changing!

Hi, like many others I have never blogged before. My son has been in Japan since October. We are extremely proud of him. He loves the Navy and has made the most of all of his experiences. When they travel to different ports he takes advantage of this and goes siteseeing and schedules tours. He posts the pictures of his travels on facebook. His most recent set of pictures showed a young man that has been working out daily and has a different body than when he left. He left home at 17 and is start… Continue

I was surprised Donny won! They all did a great job though, so, good for him! My daughter called during the show and was distracting me.....oh well, I should have recorded it!

I hope you have a truly wonderful Thanksgiving......I am giving thanks for my friends on this site and my new buddy Val :) Hugs to you!!! Debi

Hi there! Too funny what you said about New Moon. I was afraid I wouldn't like the movie because "my teen" loved it so....we don't always have the same taste :)

Donny did great tonight! They all did.....I sure wish we could get together tomorrow night and watch it, with popcorn! That sounds fun to me! Let me know if you can make it! :)

Don't worry too much about the earrings. I hope they make it on time, but if they don't, the girlfriend better be understanding!! She's a lucky girl to have Cory!

Oh, yes, I had already asked Anti M.....she is such a wealth of information, but for this one she had nothing. I think she felt bad too, she loves to be able to help. I have read blogs online about people waiting for military medical discharges....from what I've read, it can take a very, very long time. Why??? Nobody knows.

Have a good night!!!

Hi Val....sorry I'm just now getting back to you. Our youngest daughter is a HUGE fan of Twilight. She went to see New Moon yesterday and said it was AWESOME! I have not read the books or seen the movies......boy, I am behind the times!! I hear such good things about them though so that's on my list of "to do's".

Anxious to see DWTS tonight!!

How many days until Cory gets home??? Since you're on this site, I know he's already on your mind!!! Like you can get him off your mind anyway?!? :)

Dan was supposed to be hooked back up on the internet by now, but, I just checked and he's not on yet. He's had a difficult week....he can't stop worrying. Now I'm having a hard time not worrying about him. This waiting to know what his future holds is really getting him down....I keep telling him to trust God, "He already knows how things will play out and He will get you through".

Have a great day there is the beautiful state of KS :) Debi

Good morning Val!
Wishing Cory good luck on that asvab!!! Hopefully this will be the time all goes well for him :) No news regarding Dan yet. He was moved to a different room a couple of weeks ago and he's still waiting for the internet to be hooked up in his room. That could be his fault....he tends to procrastinate. Anyway, we haven't been in touch other than a couple of phone calls. So, maybe the next time we talk he'll know something???

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Jim is working. I will probably go to the hospital and have dinner with him.....it really is pretty good! We have spent so much of our adult lives at work on the holidays, so, this is nothing unusual for us.

I can imagine how excited you're getting....I understand how it's hard to think about anything else right now! So, tell your boss you're just "too excited to work" :)
Have a really great day!!
