SURPRISE!!!!

This holiday season was just ordinary days to me. Without Lizzie being home, her brother and I fell into a rut of sorts where we didn't feel the cheerfulness of the holidays. It was always Lizzie with her bubbling personality that reminded us constently that the festive season was at hand. I finally managed to put up decorations the week of Christmas(OMG). I went to a few parties, spent time with family members, but......there was something still missing. Well, I got the biggest shock of my life… Continue

Thanksgiving

Hello everyone. Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of the year when families get together and reflect on the past months. Not everyone will get the chance to be with their family during the holidays. To those who will have your loved ones with you, enjoy them, love them, hold them them close, and appreciate the time that you do have to spend with each other. Try not to be in any conflict with each other for the time that you are together is short and precious. My daughter Elizabeth will not be abl… Continue

Appreciation

There was a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind.

She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always
there for her. She told her boyfriend, 'If I could only see
the world, I will marry you.'

One day,
someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages
came off, she was able to see everything, including her
boyfriend.

He asked
her,'Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?' The
girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The
sight of his clos… Continue

Care Packages

Hello everyone. I hope that all is well. I have a lot to catch up on from the site, but there was an announcement from Molly about adopting sailors and sending them care packages. I truly feel that is a wonderful idea. We all know that our loved ones serving in the military miss the comfort of home. True, they miss us, but they also miss the small things that made life bearable. They appreciate those items a great deal. For example, Lizzie is on her ship, the USS Reagan at the moment. The phone… Continue

Tears' Day

Hi everyone. I know that I have not been on in quite some time. I am trying to finish up college to get my degree in accounting. Seem s like this last class is taking up all my time. Liz came home from FL on the 26th of August(Yeaaaaaaaaaaaa)!!! We got to spend time together and she spent time with some of her friends. But all good things have to come to an end. As you can tell by the title, that came to an end today. I took her to the airport about 2 hours ago. She is now heading towards her du… Continue

Hey Vanessa: I'm fine, I just haven't been on my computer lately. How's school? It's freezing here. We've had snow and cold weather since December 1st. I think maybe next month I will take a vacation and go see my son in SD.

Hi, Yes he is a little tired of school but he said that he is learning so much and he is finding it very interesting! How about that!!!! The ship that he is going to be assigned to is in the ship yards right now so they feel it is better to have in school than just sitting around. Glad to hear that Liz was able to come home.I bet you enjoyed that!

Dear Lord, please give me...
A few friends who understand me
and yet remain my friends.
A work to do which has real value,
without which the world
would feel the poorer...
A mind unafraid to travel,
even though the trail be not blazed.
An understanding heart...
A sense of humor.
Time for quiet, silent meditation.
A feeling of the presence of God.
And the patience to wait
for the coming of these things,
with the wisdom to know them
when they come.
~W.R. Hunt~

Thank you for being my friend!

Hi Vanessa: I haven't been online in a while so I'm catching up with everyone. I hope you had a very blessed and enjoyable Christmas. How is Liz? Did you hear from her over the holiday? I just wish I could have gone to be with him for Christmas but since he is back in the states, I get to talk to him more. Any big plans for New Years Eve? I wish you a very joyous and prosperous New Year.
