03-10 means the third class in fiscal year 2010. 2010 began for the federal gov;'t 7-1-09. OCS is now up to its 10th class for the fiscal year--class 10-10. Lot's of jargon.....keep asking and someone will pop up with an explanation!
Class numbers....it is based on the fiscal year of the Navy. Class 01-10 was the first class in the fiscal year 2010 (even though it is not yet 2010) that class started the first Sunday in August. The latest class to report was class 10-10...they ...

Definitely not worth 9 hours in a car in my book. They all talk on facebook and set up a dinner in some restaurant in Newport on Sat night, the night before , to get to know eachother. Not really for parents. Hopefully your son knows about this.

blarcano - Welcome Aboard! Like Leslie, my son has already graduated from OCS. It is quite a ride but well worth it at graduation! Most candidates go up on their own or families drop them off and leave but at graduation....it is very family friend...

- Vicki: It's always so hard to see them go, isn't it?!?!? I've already made my reservations for Virginia. I'm leaving on the 23rd...cannot wait to see that kid! Cory is a gunners-mate and assigned to a Seal Unit. He's land based, not fleet. He arrived back in Virginia from Africa last Thursday after being gone for 7 weeks....during which time there was no (ZERO) communication home. That was pretty hard, it was such a long time! Keep me posted on Peter.

This year, I have been working hard, not making any money and spending my kids' inheritance.
My LTJG said, "Go ahead, spend away. I have a career with the Navy or in the energy field."
My younger son said, "Well, if my brother does not care, please spend his half FIRST."
I taking this time to get my broker's license. Will talk shop later. Will check out your site and keep you in mind in case anyone is going to Phoenix. I can also pass you name to other agents in my company (over 1000 throughout the San Francisco Bay Area).

- Hey Vicki...I love your pictures. My son is 28, he'll graduate from OCS in two weeks and is going to supply school soon after July 4. Breaking up sucks...to put it in the vernacular. I don't know how old your son is, but once he gets over it...he'll have no problems finding another girlfriend....look at him in is uniform....My Gosh! He's got a lot ahead of him and he's just getting started....he's got the world open to him. Sometimes it harder on the moms. I know you know everything works out for the best!!! Enjoy your time with him in June. Sincerely Barbara

I just read your posting , James said the same thing to me this morning about being stuck in GA until October, maybe that could be a good thing, my son is on the softball team also, (Marines kicked the Navy butts ouch) does Peter know who James is yet? I forgot your last name so James doesn't know who Peter is since they don't use first names, James says they have lots of homework and tests, at least he isn't bored anymore lol
