PIR 8/21/09

I went to Chicago and had the most wonderful time. It was so amazing to see the PIR! I am a Army brat and have been to many military ceremonies but this one tops them all! The tremendous pride you feel when your child becomes part of our country's Navy is so overwhelming. I thought my heart was gonna jump out of my chest.
The whole weekend was a whirlwind of activity, wish I could of stayed longer. My grandson had a great time. He was pretty good during the ceremony, he feel asleep at the end. S… Continue

Sunday June 28

Chrissy called me twice this morning and I missed both calls. There was not a good signal where I was at, but I also had it turned off during church. Another Mom said she was going to keep her phone on during church, I think I will do that next Sunday! I keep listening to the messages over and over again! I miss her so much. She told me to"Chill out" and she was fine. She has a small surface fracture, but is not in any pain. She went to chapel this morning with a friend from a "brother division"… Continue

Hi Vicki, wanted to welcome you to AECF group. I've been out of town for a couple of weeks so a tad late on my welcoming you. Will Chrissy be an FC or ET when she graduates from A school? Our son is an FC and is with his first ship in Hawaii now, if you have any questions please let me know.

thanks so much for the information. It helps to have someone to talk to about it all. It's so hard keeping her twin together and her older sister without showing my own fear and pain. I feel confident in her abilities as she has been a commander in NJROTC for 6 years. She was on the competitive drill team and she has had all of the orders of the sentry drilled into her brain as well as chains of command and such. The physical aspects I worry about even though she's in very good shape being on the situp/pushup and running teams as well, but a mom has to worry about the separation. She's NEVER been away from me or her twin for more than an evening. Luckily all three of my girls moved into their own place in June so I've had some time to adjust, but NOT ready! Thanks for the words of encouragement and allowing me to vent! Enjoy Labor day!

Hi my friend, You have to keep thinking posstive and don't get down. If Chrissy calls she will heat it in your voice for sure. You can do it just say a prayer and go on. I know it is ruff now but it will get better. You can message me later when Alexis is in BC and remind me of that later. Just remember she is doing a proud thing and making a life for her and her son. Just sit down and write her letters and let her know how proud you are of her, maybe that will help you get over this blue spell. Hang in there my friend, I'm here if you just want to talk. She has God on here side so he is watching over her day and night. Take care and I will talk to you later. luv ya my friend Pam (Alexis step-mom)
