Profile Information

About me:
I am a single mom and have raised my son on my own since his age of 4. He is my only child and now since he is off to boot everyone tells me he belongs to the NAVY. I understand that but he is still my son.
I am here to support or represent my:
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
brotherhood, team work, pride. I'm learning to deal with the emotions of letting go. This is his future and he has many brothers now. The experience is ongoing.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

I need to breath

I'm so excited to get to see my son on Thanksgiving even if it is just for a 7+ hour window. I can't wait to see his face. How he holds himself, has his hair grown any, did he loose weight, did he buff up, will he smile real big when he sees me or will he be emotional like his mom. Did they take the emotin out of him at Boot Camp? Will I be able to stop crying happy tears. Oh man, I can hardly wait. Adrienne

Thanksgiving in Great Lakes

I am looking so forward to Thanksgiving with my sailor even if it is only for 7 hours. It's going to be a 6.5 hour drive up after work on Wednesday with a late arrival sleep fast and then go get him at 0800 to 0900. I'll probably just stare at him after I stop hugging him and then PIR is the following Friday. Yippee

Adrienne, I know what you are going through, I was waiting too, so I called his recruiter, he gave me address. Then I finally get the letter from Blake, and it's a different address! Ugh! So the first couple of letters might not reach him! There is a lesson in this whole story, I'm working on patience!!! Your letter will come, and it will be a great day!!

Just want to say hi from across the river (about 18 miles from the Arch!)
We managed to make it through boot camp, but songs and grocery stores were tough. Even shopping at Kohl's seemed empty when I went by the young men's clothing section. And, the dogs, jumping up whenever they heard a "stereo on wheels" and running to the kitchen door.
Let us know how we can help you.
