Last minute LuLu (aka my daughter) doesn't have any idea about taxes. She doesn't know what VITA is. What does it stand for? I told her to ask her chief and she's certain he won't know what to do. I can't believe the Navy doesn't inform these young…

I'm curious about how long it might take for my daughter to get "classed up". She's been in Pensacola for a month (except the days she came home for Christmas) and there is no sign of a start date. She's AO. I do know she has been taking some other…

Hi Mattsmom - fellow October BC Moms and kids who are AO's. Allison arrived on 12/8 and I've gotten to talk to her a few times becuase she has been borrowing a roomates' cell phone. She begged me to help her find a flight home for Christmas because…

She's coming home for Christmas- borrowing into the future, but it's her choice. She WAS supposed to be done with school at the end of January - but apparently they are over manned and she's not sure when she'll be done with A school now, so she was…

On a side note...in case you haven't heard these PIR tips...

1-keep an eye open for the "bodysnatchers" - have you heard about them?
2-the divisions march to the front gate each morning and I've heard it's a great show. Our son never told us (GRRR!!!!!) so we totally missed it, but heard great stories after we got back home that it was quite a show!
3-If you're renting a car, take quarters for the toll roads -- they'll catch you coming and going, and everywhere in between!
4-The Gurnee Mall was a great place to spend a little time. We almost missed it and had about an hour on Sunday to stroll through. I'm glad we went, it was a cool place to hang out for a while. Given the weather this time of year, might be a good spot for you to check out.

I did just go last month and would be happy to share information if you have any questions where I might be able to help!

Hi,

Thanks for the note. I'm sorry you can't make it, but you'll be having an AWESOME weekend! There's a great calendar coming together for 2010 so I look forward to meeting you next year. I live in the South Sac/Elk Grove area and work in Rancho Cordova -- is that anywhere near you?

Have a wonderful trip!

Hi, Dawn. Yes, I'm sure there will be many tears on 12/4. And, ya it's weird I can't find anyone else in div 019. The last letter I wrote to Matt, I told him to tell his friends to write their moms and tell them to come join us at N4M. It's starting to make me a little nervous that there seems to be no one out there. Maybe after he gets my letter I will start to see some. Looking forward to meeting you.. If we can find each other there. LOL! I'll be the one wearing a red scarf, ha, ha

Alzmom...The gathering is at my house in Fair Oaks. We will be meeting about 1100 hours on Sunday, Juns 28th. I will be posting my address and directions in the next couple of weeks.

We have only met as a group once before. It was just mom's talking about their experiences and what to expect. Its a nice way to talk openly about what you are feeling and what might be scaring you.

Some have been on this roller coaster ride for awhile and some are just starting this ride. Welcome to the fun!!!
