Brenda very nice to have met you yesterday. Is there an Applebee's in the vicinity of where we were yesterday? The reason I'm asking is because they let veterans and active militasry eat free on veterans' day, and I though it would be nice to eat there to thank them for what they did. Are you going to San Diego for Christmas? I hope that whatever you do, you have a wonderful time with your son over the holidays.

No, have him check the Navy Gateway Inns & Suites at 3628 Tulagi Road. Tell him when he enters the Base across the Strand from Special Warfare, the Main Gate is Guadalcanal Road. Then go to Rendova Rd. (first of second intersection) and turn right. The parking lot is before he get to Tulagi Road no West side of street. The intersection of Rendova and Tulagi is where the Memorial is located with the display of Boats and the Wall is located. It is on Base not off Base and you have to go through the Base Main Gate to get to it. The 7th floor up on the West side will be looking at the door to enter Naval Special Warfare Center and through the door is the Grinder.

Navy Gateway Inns & Swites, Naval Base Coronado South, you can find them at www.dodlodging.net. It is on NAB Coronado on the East side of the Strand and is directly in front of the entrance to NSW on the West side of the Strand. You will need to get your son to make reservations and be with you at check-in. You will also have to go to North Island with your son and have him get you a pass for your car. The pass from the Lodge will not get you on Base if it is after about 2200 or 2300 hours, but a pass from North Island will let you on Base 24 hrs. We were out late a couple of times. I will send you a Friends Request so we can talk.

Brenda Kay, reguarding places to eat in Coronado, most of the guys in my GS Class like Breakfast at the Beach-n-Diner ( they just call it the Diner) and we went several times. It is also go for Lunch. Sit on the sidewalk and watch everyone walk by, we saw several we knew for Graduation. When we were there last month they had all you can eat crabb legs on Thursday night starting at 1600. Coronaco Brewing Company is nice for Dinner. We took GS and some friends there and they saw some of their buddies there. Devine Pastabilities is our favorite place. It is a Mom and Pop type place. If you go wear shorts, jeans or thing you want. They take a 12 inch breadstick and hollow out the inside, cut in 6 inch half and in the hollow area they put you Italian meal in it. Mine had Fettuccini Alfredo and my wife had Carbonara. You can use fork and eat the inside the then nibble on bread or just eat yourself around the whole thing, not need in getting you fork dirty.

Will write more later. I just put up a Blog on SQT Graduation.

Have a Great Evening.
