Am I the only one here who's totally relaxed about sending my child to boot camp?

You are absoluty not alone. I think, hope, every parent feels that way. I miss my son very much, but I know that he will be a man when he comes home. On that note, he won't ever be home again to li...

So, now what? We want to try and get something in motion to get the RE-4 seperation overturned. We're not sure how to proceed. Any ideas?

It appears as a bill, however, it is just a statement. When Andy was being seperated, he got a "bill" for $470.00. Upon closer inspection, he was to receive the whole pay check for the first two weeks of Nov. he was only there for the first few da...

Valerie, thanks for the clarification.

Cherylm, My son was home in two weeks. They do have to process them out. Has she seen the legal dept. yet? I'm so sorry. I know my son had high hopes, but there were other plans in the works that we as Moms know nothing about that are bigger than ...

Actually, it looks like the only thing he is being charged for is the days in Nov. he isn't going to be there. He will get paid for all of Nov. and he got offically seperated on the 3rd or so. He actually didn't get uniforms at all. he missed it b...

No, Christie, the one on the web site isn't the correct address. The one above is the correct one though. Although, I sent mail to both addresses and they got to him. i don't know why they can't keep this stuff up to date. Has Todd called you yet?...

I just wanted to lt you all know that Andy came home today. I showed him your pics and he remembers some of the guys, though hard to tell from civilian pics though being as how they are all "tall, thin and bald". He is a bit broken. He is scared t...

He's home, he's home! Actually, he will get a full Nov pay day, but owes back $400. Kinda silly. He's broken. Kinda scared, and very shakey. He's been sick the last 3 days. He missed even getting measured for uniforms by 3 days. He came home in hi...

So, my son is coming home tomorrow. He got presented with a $400 bill from the Navy today. He was a "little" angry. After all, I'm sure they won't let him keep the uniforms they are making him pay for.

My husband called legal today. They told him we should continue with the complaint. Since we heard the recruiter tell our son about not putting the ADD on the app, we may have a case for over turnin the "fraudulant" seperation. They also said we c...

Thank you Rose. Actually the recuiter told us, as his parent that we shouldn't put it on the app because it had been more than three years since he used any meds. Andy doesn't want to get back in the service, but I know some jobs look at that info...

Did anyone else's child get "kicked out" because of a fradulent application? The only thing fradulent was the recruiter telling us not to put my son's ADD diagnosis on the app because he hadn't taken meds in over 3 years! How do we "fight" this? W...

Don't worry about sharing with the guys Maegan. I don't think their letters get read by the RDC. I know Andy was probably vocal about his goals and dreams of going to Bible College and being a missionary in japan. I've heard though that the RDCs w...

I thought you would all get a kick out of this. Guess what we got in the mail today? Andy's form letter! Even on the bottom he said he didn't think he was going to make it so don't buy tickets. Sounds like it's been working on him for a while. Let...

Thank you for thinking of us, even when things are tough for you. I'm glad you finally got your form letter. Most of ladies in the 11/024 group got mail today, but since I live in the country it always takes an extra day or two for me to get mai. I have been thinking of you all day. Please know that you are in my prayers.

Welcome to Navy Moms!! Ayear ago this week my youngest daughter (now 22 years old PIRed Oct 3rd and became a Sailor!! She went onto Pensacola Florida for A School and from there went to Whidbey Island Washington for C School. She received her First Duty orders while in A School. They are asked if they want East Coast or West Coast. She thought by saying east coast she would get Virginia beach (Norfolk VA) however she got Japan! she has now been in Atsugi Japan since Aug 1st! She is at Sea presently for her second time on the USS GW. She works nights on the Flight Deck doing Line Checks. make sure you write and send cards to your Sailor as much as possible while in boot camp and keep him or her motivatated and encouraged to do their best!! Do not send goodies, cigarrettes or snacks of any kind as they are not allowed. if you have questions feel free to ask any of us here. You are now part of a Lifelong family here!! Also if there is a Dad, Grandpa, Uncle or even Yourself, Friends other Family members be sure they sign up on here or go to www.navydads.com. we all love to see pictures of your Sailor also, so feel free to download some pics here of before going in the navy and after. We all love to see our Sailors. Again welcome to Navyformoms!!
