Joe is my middle son, he is 24. Johnny, my babyson who is 22 just signed up in Jul and will be going to bootcamp in Nov. I am prior Air Force. I stayed in 5 years. Their father retired from the Air Force. I've been divorced for almost 11 years and was married almost 20 years. I still have my 19 year old daughter, home with me and my 26 year old son living close by. I work full-time as an Office Manager for a Window and Siding Company. I'm also working on getting healthier and shedding unwanted pounds. I enjoy reading and watching TV.
I am here to support or represent my:
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
I'm not able to communicate as much with my son. He can get emails and has called from Ports before. It is an ongoing learning experience.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi Georgana, thanks for your comment. My son is going into nukes and hopes to be on a sub eventually. Does your son like working on a sub?

Georganna, as a former sailor of the Crommelin I just wanted to answer one of your questions... Sometimes the Crommelin will host a family cruise for all the family members to take a trip out to sea with their loved ones...

Hey Georganna, The package with the Leis and the Coconut Bra and grass skirt has arrived. I also am sending about 25 pillowcases to the Crommelin. It looks like they are going to have a great Luau. I just keep wondering who is going to wear that coconut bra.

Georgana, Read "Blind Man's Bluff." Its an old book but the best one that has been written on the history of the Submarine service. If you can't get it in the Library you can get it on Amazon. They did extensive research and it is really well written. Let me know if you like it.

Hi Georganna, wanted to welcome you to DEPpers! Wondering if you have met my fabulous friend Sheila C. from Kentucky whose son Martin is also aboard the Crommelin? Maybe not, since you are so new to the site. He is a BM. They probably know each other. A frigate is pretty small, cramped quarters, I've heard there's no AC! Wanted you to know that there is an exciting undertaking happening here on site even as your son is underway. Maybe I should let you go see and read for yourself:

http://www.navyformoms.com/group/mollysadoptasailorproject

Click on the link to go there, check up in the discussions for August-the ALOHA one.:D

Looking forward to getting to know you and all about both your Navy sons! God Bless!
