When I heard “Navy,” I:
Needed to learn more about it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
The king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the LORD; He turns it wherever He wishes.Proverbs 21:1
God is Ultimately in control and I MUST rest in that !
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Attitude is Everythng!

Hope you enjoy this article by Chuck swindoll!

I had this on my refrigerator for years:)

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, God-given gifts or skill. It will make or break a company . . . a church . . . a home. The remar… Continue

Grace...the last phase for your Sailor!! YAY! Mine just graduated from Prototype last week. He graduated from Power School in February and was put on hold till end of Aptil. Then he started Prototype up in BS, but was on hold for a little over a month. He should have been done in late Sept, but just finished his Oral Boards on Monday! Wow what a journey. He was picked up as Staff in NY and is very excited about that. It's what he wanted, so I am happy for him. He will stay there possibly 2-3 yrs. He is hoping to eventually get Sta21 as he has a little over 2+yrs of college and would like to finish and his mother hopes for that too!!!! LOL! Prototype is a alot of long days and nights and can be very stressful....tell your Sailor to hang in there!
Have you heard anything about Fleet Week in Tampa? I read a mention on N4M's a few weeks back, but couldn't see any details?
Have a great Holiday.

Grace,
Hello! Yes it's a small world and you'll find that it's even smaller on N4M's. Have met so many great ladies in the "neighborhood".
Shane is in Ballston Spa and about to finish Prototype on November 20th. He's been there since the end of April. He chose to go to NY instead of stay in Charleston after Power School and altho his old section graduated a few months ago in GC, he says he doesn't regret going to BS. He loves it in NY...go figure for my Florida boy!
Where will your son do Prototype? Is he ET, EM or MM?
Sending my best wishes for his success!

Hi Grace - well the week went by quickly and Andy is driving back to Goose Creek today. It was so great to have him home. I am looking forward to hearing about Prototype - hopefully it won't be as stressful as the last 6 months. Has Joseph left yet? Hope you are doing well! Rhonda

Hi Grace - Andy passed his re-comp today!!! Woo hoo! He'll be heading home tomorrow. Can't wait to see him! Thanks for the thoughts and prayers! Rhonda

We won't be going to Goose Creek this week or next. Once Andy passes next week, they'll hand him his certificate, then he gets to go on leave. No graduation ceremony next week. We are very grateful that he has the chance to re-take the test. He said there are 14 sailors re-taking the test. He did really well on some sections and knows which areas to concentrate on. At least he'll still get to come home, not for as long, but we'll still see him. Congratulations to Joseph!! Have a safe trip and enjoy your time with him!!!!!

Hope your phone call was better than mine. Andy missed passing by 5 points and will re-Comp next Wednesday. He sounded ok, more frustrated than anything, but glad to get a second chance to take the test.

It's 7:30pm - no word from Andy yet. I'm trying to stay busy doing laundry and packing. My husband is cleaning out the van getting it ready for the road trip tomorrow. Hope you're hanging in there!

OK - they are done! I thought of our boys all morning. I was in a meeting at work and put my pen down at exactly 11:30am, the time they were to be done by. Can't wait for the phone call tonight. Keep me posted!!

Andy did well on Friday too. He called Sunday, while baking a cake at a friend's apartment. He loves to cook, and I think it helps him de-stress for a little while. He sounded really good - nervous, but confident. Can't wait to hug that boy Thursday night!!! Best of luck to your son tomorrow too. I'll check in tomorrow night!
