so, we got to spend some time with andrew at the airport. he's all settled in down in florida. he as a little homesick at first, but he's good now.

Profile Information

About me:
Married 27 years & mother of two. 22 year old son left for boot camp on June 24th and is in division 287.Our 20 year old daughter will be junior in college. Nervous about son being gone, but excited for him. Once we get to the point where we get letters, I think I'll be better and even better still after PIR and I can see him & he can have his laptop & cell phone.

We know UGA well but Hampton is very south of us. Our son PIRed in April 08 and graduated in Dec. 08. Eight months, only three days of hold. The holds they are seeing now are unbelievable, hoping that will change soon!

Hi Indybova! Wanted to welcome you to AECF, I see you just returned from your PIR...I know you must be glowing still! Will your son be an ET or FC? Our son is an FC and was just home for leave after graduating for C school. He left this week for his first ship...in Hawaii! Oh yeah...he is 22 and our daughter is 20 and is also a junior at college (4 hours away) so the house is...empty again! Please let us know if you have questions.

I believe we will get to spend the weekend with him. He is moving across the street for his A school. Congrats on Robby's graduation. Did you post tips and info about your time at PIR? Would love to hear them.

I need to hop off here. I have to catch a plane for a business trip to Virginia. Quick trip there and back today.

Congrats!!! I remember when we first joined N4M's and you and I were both lost little Navy Mom's on this site!!!! My Robby graduated last week and now you are a mom of sailor and headed to GL in a few days!!! Boy the time flies! LOL (not)!! :)

Have a great time in GL!! PIR is awesome and enjoy your time w/ your sailor!! Will you be able to have the entire weekend w/ him????

My son is in Div 287. I got a letter yesterday and sounded really upbeat. I just hope that all is well because he tends to not want to worry me, although he can't lie very well! He has been giving his girlfrien more information, but that is ok, she shares it with me. Is your son a Grad n Go as well?

I am waiting for my call and/or his girlfriend! We are on standby until we hear from each other !! He called me today before he got on the plane so I was at least excited about that!

Paula, THANK YOU so much for the kind words. Today was bittersweet as we said our final goodbyes to our baby that will return a man.
