"mommyhunt - I so understand about not contributing to any challenge for your daughter but you can send her little things that as bad as candy. Low calorie protein bars, mints, gum, little gifts that aren't edible, things like that.
"Demi: I have a IPhone 4 and use Facetime with my 26 yr old son who lives with his expectant wife 440 miles south of me. This is an AMAZING invention and I wish everyone had this ability on their phone! It is truly the best thing ever and I'm…"
"thank you! It sure seems like he's having a good time. Sounds almost like a college dorm there, what with him having a new TV now in his room and his PS3 with games and movies. I'd like that life myself! :)"

"Navy nana - No, you will have to wait. Unless, you want to just send a small thing of brownies that he can eat when he opens the box. My son is in Pensacola and his 3rd week there I sent him a large box with his PS3 and some clothes with toiletries,…"

"Hello everyone! Just thought I'd stop by to say hello! Still winding down from last weekend. Unfortunately I caught some sort of crud virus - thinking it came from the planes/airport. We were only able to be with our son from PIR to 7:00 PM…"
My 21 year old son has always shown signs that one day he would be in the military. Now the time has come. He has a 25 yr old brother who is a nurse. I have 3 step children who are a wonderful addition to my life. I work in the Internet corporate world and love it very much.
I am here to support or represent my:
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
my children s Father was in the Navy and for that it did wonderful things for us. It helped us to purchase homes without having to save a lot of cash on hand as well it taught my husband a great sense of accomplishment and discipline. I am hoping the Navy Experience will bring only positive and adventure to my sons life, as well to help him finish his education.

Hello. My son is ship 04 div 805. He is going to Pensecola for Air Rescue. I have not recieved any further information since the letter I recieved saying he might be GNG. I hope not because I was looking forward to spending some time with him. I am taking Amtrak from NY and planned on leaving Chicago Sat. pm. It is difficult having so much "up in the air" not knowing how much time we can spend together and if we have to see him at the airport. I have not got a phone call since middle of Jan. Not knowing is the worst!! Hope everyone gets good news very soon. My son said in the letter he would let me know as soon as he found out. So...I guess I can only wait and keep busy!!!
Hi I changed my name from miercaky to jody thought I better tell you so you know who I am. Our son called us yesterday, It was great to hear his voice, sounded a little teary eyed but I bet they all do. Said he will be calling again tomorrow afternoon. I have been writing a list of questions to ask him, I couldn't think of 1 when we were talking to him. lol
This is so weird, to have him in the Navy, just never thought he would go in. hmmmm guess I didn't know he wanted to that bad. I sure hope its a good choice for him, and all of them.
Hi! I saw you on as well and was excited there was another mom with a son in the same division. I know what you mean about the site being overwhelming but it's SO nice to see that we're not alone feeling the same thing. I'm sure it's different for you as with me having your son go rather than the hubby. Mine was in the Navy as well.
In your profile pic it was fantastic to see that your son was so tall. Mine is 6'4 and looks like a football player. After seeing all the kids at MEPS the morning Erik left, I was worried he would be head and shoulders above everyone else and stick out like a sore thumb! Nice to know there are at least 2 tall ones in the same division!
Welcome to N4M’s. This site is full of information, support and encouragement. My son graduated boot camp Jan 29, 2010 and is now stationed in Sicily Italy as an IT.

Once you get your PIR (Pass In Review=graduation)date…search groups and join the PIR group..if it hasn’t been formed yet YOU may need to form it.
Go to YouTube and search Navy Racks, boot camp, graduaton, Battlestations 21 (CNN does it)
