Hey Karrie - I've been off this site for a long time to study. How was your Valentine's Day?? Hope things are going well for you!

I'm sure Andy will be able to advance just as quickly! Adam just dove into it and worked hard to pass the advancement tests as soon as they were available. The E5 paygrade makes a big difference, especially in terms of the housing allowance. I'm sure its even moreso for dependant pay. I'm trying to remember when Adam made E5, but I think it was around the time he got to San Diego, so about 1 1/2 after joining? In any event, I'm sure he'll get there in no time at all, especially with a loving family to support him. Any special Valentine's plans? ;)

A big old YAY to hubby coming home tonite!! :) I bet that's a good good feeling. With the live ashore package, that just assures that he can live off base? (We haven't had to deal with any of that yet, living in 2 different places). I'm so sorry to hear about your cousins' trials with their children - both of those are pretty scary situations. Adam and I have been together for 3 1/2 years now, and yes marriage is on the way - we just want to wait until he's back, I'm employed, and we have half a second to focus on US :) (and I can't wait for that half second!!!) Any ideas where Andy is headed to after GL??

Sooo, I was prematurely happy about the emails! Just got one from him this morning saying that they were going to be dropping communications a lot from here on out. Oh well! It was a good couple days while it lasted I guess. On a happier note, I can't wait to work in pediatrics! I love working with kids, especially in intensive care - something I hope you've never had to experience with your little guys! The hospital is so scary when you're little, there's nothing more rewarding for me than making it a little easier for them. What rate is your husband in school for? Was it ET?

Hey thanks I am pretty stressed right now.I wish I had some family I could rent to my sister is the only person in our family who might possibly be able to do that since she rents an apartment but at this point in time she doesn't think she will be able to afford it.So I am looking into property management places but this all just freaks me out it seems like at every turn it is some new obstacle to overcome. It's awesome that you got to move by your hubby so soon did they Navy move you and if so how did that whole process go?I was also curious did your husband get to go pick out the house for you guys or did you go with him?I am hoping to get this mess worked out and move around June when my son is out of school.

Hey thanks for the comment I appreciate everyone being so supportive.I wish my situation were clean cut about moving unfortunately I have a lot of drama to deal with before I can move with him and I really just don't know what to do and I feel so bad because he wants me to move like yesterday but my son is in school and we just bought a house and I guess I'm just kinda wondering that if we won't be able to be together during C school if I should uproot everyone to be with him.Don't get me wrong I know that sounded kinda harsh I would do just about anything to be with him it's just my son is already having some problems and I wouldn't want to make anything worse on him.

I hear you about daycares! They're scary to me too - I don't think I'd feel comfortable leaving my kids with a stranger...I'm going into pediatric nursing too, so I'm overly cautious with the little ones! I really do hope that the Naval Medical Center will hire me out in San Diego - that would be a wonderful experience. As for deployment communication - emails are pretty regular (although I hear communications go down occasionally) - phone calls won't come until they are in port, and assuming they don't have duty during that period. So many "what ifs"! By all accounts, I can expect about 7 calls over the 6 month course. I'm fine with that now - granted I might be a blubbering mess about it in a couple months! :)

hahaha mass confusion indeed! I've learned to live on a Navy schedule - aka never make plans in advance. I am still living in Evanston, and I will be moving out to San Diego in May, assuming all goes as planned. I just graduated nursing school, so figuring out jobs and timing is another battle. So it goes! I've actually been able to email back and forth with him a lot more than I thought would be possible, so no complaints here :) As I'm writing this I can see pics of your family going by - your boys are beautiful!! I'm sure its nice to have your little guys with you as you get used to living Navy style :)

Hi Karrie :) Thanks for the message, I am always happy to meet new Navy wives and girlfriends as well! That's so great you were able to move to be closer to your hubby during his schooling. I was fortunate to live in Evanston, just a half hour south of GL during my boyfriend's training. He is an FC2 (and yes, the 2 just means he's a PO 2nd class). "We" have been in the Navy for 2 1/2 years now, and all I can tell you is it's quite a ride! While they are growing in their own respects, you really learn a lot about yourself in the process. I've loved it so far, but would be lying to say I haven't had my days... :) Adam's on his first deployment now (they left Saturday), so I'm dealing with that right now. I'm glad Mary got us in touch, and let me know if you ever need anything!
