Profile Information

About me:
I am a proud Mom of three children. Our oldest son is a Nuke MM2 currently serving on the USS Enterprise! He is in the Newport News/Norfolk, VA area. I am so happy to have him stateside following his 3 yr + with the USS George Washington, an aircraft carrier permanently deployed out of Yokosuka, Japan. Next is the brother who is a history and political science buff, currently working in the internet security industry . He REALLY enjoys off-roading in his truck and the art of crafting his own beer! And then there is our 18 yr old daughter who is a senior in H.S. and on her way to GA State Univ. in Atlanta. She is always on the go - horses, music, artist and so much more that keeps her busy!!! I am very blessed to have a loving husband to whom I've been married to going on 29 yrs! I am an Early Intervention Specialist (who is currently unemployed !!?? ;) who works with physically and/or developmentally delayed infants and children. I am also technically challenged and that is why I don't have a personal artsy and fun? background or photos!!! I am working on it!!!
I am here to support or represent my:

Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Letting go - and I'm still working on that!! I am very proud of the man that he has become. He has gained confidence and an appreciation for determination and discipline.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Kathy, welcome aboard!  My sailor is a nuke as well. I believe he is staying aboard until October. Then he will finally get some well deserved shore duty. My Jon is an ET.

The pictures on my page are all of my granddaughter. My grandson was born in September. Unfortunately for him, I have not been able to take tons of pictures, yet.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Kathy, pardon my dumbness so early in the morning but are you the one who just requested a copy of the flyer from me?  I am not really this hairbrained but I was up all night contemplating this show - The beginning stages are always the hardest (LOL) I am quite tired and I believe it was you I just accepted as a friend.  I can't even think right now.  So, if it was you then thank you for the inquiry about the show and the flyer is on its' way but I am working on a new one as well with better pictures.   If I contacted you in error then please accept my most sincerest apologies.  (please send me a private message with your email address and  will forward the flyer to you)

Have a wonderful day and thanks for the inquiry.

Mary

Sorry about the confusion!  I don't know what I was thinking...but we were sure looking for you!  We had the front desk all ready for when you arrived!  I guess we'll just have to wait for next time!  I will look forward to getting to know you better and be your friend in the "real life" world out here.  Have a wonderful day!

Kathy, Are you a member of Blue Star Moms of Georgia?  I tried to find out more about them but their page/link was not working?  Didn't know if you had any info.  Thanks.

Hi Kathy,  Sorry for the late response but I am definitely not computer savvy and I haven't checked my "wall" til now!  Hope all is well with you.  Kids go back to school tomorrow(tues.) YEAH!  I go back to work! YEAH!  PIR is in 25 days! YEAH!

Thank you Kathy.  My brother was in the Navy for 6 years and was on a carrier out of Japan as well.  He was on many ships but I am not sure the George Washington was one of them.  My brother really enjoyed that area.  I was already married and away from home when my brother was away so I really don't remember how often he called home.  I went into BC thinking I wasn't going to be able to "talk" to him at all.  So the "I'm still alive" phone call we got on Friday was a blessing.  He seems upbeat and positive so that is all I can hope for!  I know that he is in good hands and I can't wait to see him in 30 days! :)

Hi Kathy,  Just got your message.  My SR is going the "Nuke" route after BC.  He will graduate on 2-11-11.  He will be going to Charleston after graduation. I really know nothing about "what comes next".  I guess I need to do some reading. :)  We have been in Cumming for 10 years and just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in December.  My son graduated from South Forsyth High School and I currently have a daughter at Lambert.  I have two younger children 11 and 7(both boys).  Would love to talk with you some more.  I am also VERY technically challenged but I am sure my daughter can help with anything I need.

Hey Kathy,

YES! I am a Kathy in Atlanta! I see you are in Cumming. I live in Powder Springs (Cobb County) and work downtown at a law firm. I've been there 15 years. Please definitely keep me in the loop if you and other moms plan events to get together. I'd love to join in. Any plans to go to Japan? I'm hoping/praying for March/April, but the way John (John w/ an "h") loved Thailand, I may have to wait to go see him as he intends to go back same time I said I'd come and see him. anyways on that. thanks for writing! katlanta :-)
