There is a very nice Navy Lodge on base. I've never heard of a parent staying in the barracks before.
travis out last year on the abe lincoln 2008 vfa151 vigilanties!!!!!!!!!!!!!the places and things he seen........oh my gosh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!kerry from kansas.
i stayed with travis in his room no one was there because of just getting back from cruise and everyone was on leave or gone on their ships so i just stay with him, his roommate was gone until the day i had to catch my flight home so it just work ...
Where did you stay on base? How would I go about setting that up?

Thanks for sharing! My hubby and I plan to spend some time with our son on base after homecoming. I envy you the chance to spend time driving to and from with your son. Must have been an amazing trip. I'm looking forward to seeing and experiencing...

- Wow, Kerry. Just read your profile. You are blessed with a large family. I just have my son and one daughter, of course their spouses and now my wonderful little grandson. Got to head up to Valley Center where my brother lives. I need him to repair a bedrail for me, which broke just as I was going to bed. No fun!

- Hi, Kerry. Great to hear from you. I graduated Mt. Carmel (before the boys invaded) in 68. So your grandson is at Heights now? Wow. I'm an older mom. Was 30 before Kelly was born and he was my fist. Now he's 29 and just has his first son, who is not quite 8 months. Am really appreciating all the good tips on here. I really laughed at your comment about how often he calls. Would love to get that from Kelly, but am sure most calls will go go his wife, of course.

- It's so good to hear from you.. It's great to know ya'll are doing well... I'm sry he left early.... Jonis almost did that when he was home last... His friends were glad to see him; but they have their own lives too & he didn't always fit in w/that.... Jonis is doing good.... He had been out of contact for almost 4 wks which had me nuts; but I got a email last night; so i feel better... It was b/c of where they are that he couldn't communicate much.... Again; it's great to hear from you & Girl; don't be a stranger....

We have meet and greets to events that the moms set up to meet each other and have dinner or an outing. There are groups to help you with each and every step of this wonderful adventure that our children have chosen called the US Navy.
