- I heard from daughter, she commented in her next letter that it gave her a boost and helped uplift her spirits to go on....I have booked a hotel at the Hawthorne Suites..it's 8 mile away..reviews said it takes about 15 minutes to get there..also read to park in the Metra 20 yards from the main gate to avoid traffic...so sorry it's taken so long to get back with you..crazy work schedule I have!!! Hope everything is going well for you!

I received my first phone call yesterday, def could hear the tears in his voice. He says its getting better daily and he hopes in a few weeks its even better. and received a letter today. Oh how i miss him. I booked my flight but need to look into hotels and rental car

Good morning Kim, we have been away so I am sorry for the delayed response. As far as writing I sent our son a few cards each week to provide encouragement that he was doing the right thing and to let him know how proud we were and that we missed him but he needed to take these steps to move on in life. As far as graduation your son will let you know when but they do not know until late into Boot Camp whether they leave right after graduation (that day) or if they have any time off or are staying in GL to go through A school. It all depends what direction they are taking. Once they do know they then need to get you added to the list if you are coming so you can get on base.
I hope this is some help. It is hard when we are so use to either having them at home or whether they were on their own but we could always pick up the phone. One thing to remember is unless it is absolutely necessary try not to have discussions about any problems at home, keep it positive and the focus on them. Joyce

HI there, we are neighbors so to speak. I live in Punta Gorda. Our son enlisted Feb.2011 and is on the USS Enterprise currently at sea.
