Pat, I got the box, the letter with the graduation date and his address today. I mailed a card as I left work and will write a letter tonight. When you mentioned the form letter, I assume this is the one you are referring to. If not, let me know. ...

Hi Pat, We talked about a week ago about our sons leaving on the same day. I got the phone call from him after he arrived. I haven't heard from him since but didn't really expect to. Hopefully the Recruiter can give me his address tomorrow. I want...

Thank you for the support. I am so glad there is a website such as this one for navymoms. It really does help talking with others that are going through the same situations and know exactly how you are feeling. We can all cry together and at the s...

I know just how you feel. My son is also leaving on November 3rd.. He doesn't seem to be too nervous about it but the closer the date the more upset I am. I feel like I could just burst out crying anytime. I know this is what he wants but I will m...

Linda, I finally got the box yesterday (11/10/09) but no letter inside and still no address from his recruiter. :( It will just be so much better if we could start getting some letters out and maybe one back!!! This "no" communication is just awful. Oh well now that I got the box everything else should start flowing.......I hope. I will keep you posted as soon as I get his letter and date of graduation. I hope all is going well for you. I am here if you want to chat. Have a great day!!

No Linda, as of this morning (Tues) I still have not received his box. It just has to come today......I would think!! I am the same way you are about wondering if Dylan still feels the same way now that he is in. I hope that he does because I know this is something he really wanted also. I just don't want and hope I don't get the "I hate it" or "Why did I do it" letter. When we can actually start sending and receiving letters that is. By the way did you get your son's address yet? Dylan's recruiter said he would have it last Friday for us........but still nothing. :( This "no" communication is so difficult!!!

Hi Linda,
I am right there with you, my son left on the 4th I got the 30 second call and like you said nothing since. I am also waiting for the recruiter to get his address and I am hoping to get it today. We all just want to get these letters going. I really hate this "no communication". It is so hard to get used too. I have not received his "box" yet either, that sad symbol should be arriving today. :( I have been a day behind Pat so far and her box arrived Friday so I am bracing for mine today. Did you get yours yet?

Hi Linda,
I understand what you mean. I even miss the messy room ! I'm doing ok but I have my weepy moments too. We'll be ok, I'm sure. Guess it just takes time.
Nice to have people to share with

Hi Linda,
The butterflys are getting worse by the day. My son Mike seems to be ok too, but I am fighting back tears a lot. I am trying to focus on all of the positives. I think they made a great decision but this is the hard part for me. I'll be thinking of you and your family. Glad we will have eachother to vent to. Enjoy the next couple days, I'm here if you want to talk. Stay strong!
