Marieee...Correction.......I got the letter 9 days after he left, not 9 days after the box.

Hi Marieee. The next week is gonna be rough, but hang in there. Let the wonderful people of this group help you through. Everyone seems to have a different story about when things come, but here's what happened in my case: Three days after my son left, I received the box of his things. Nine days later I received the form letter. It was so hard waiting. So many other moms, wives and girlfriends had gotten the information earlier in the mail or through their recruiter. My son's recruiter was no help at all. He claimed that he didn't have the information and after the 3rd call to him, he never called me back. I have heard of some wonderful recruiters who stopped by the recruit's house to give them the information. That's a good recruiter. I hear that it is okay to reach out to the recruiter 72 hours after your recruit has left. They should be able to give you an address, but not the PIR date. You'll have to check online for that. I think a new PIR date posts each Monday. I'll get you the link!! Stay Strong!

Hey hunny! I know your sad but you have to stay strong. He is going to be fine. Start writing letters and if you have to, start a diary. It will help. Stay strong girlie!

hey, girl! i know your fiance just left for boot camp. stay strong. :] it probably seems hard right now, but in the end you know it'll be worth it. you guys will definitely be much stronger, and you WILL hear from him! just think about the good memories - it'll help you push through the next 8 or 9 weeks. as much as you miss him, he misses you too! if you stay positive, you will attract positive outcomes. :] and you know, if i'm ever back home and you feel lonely and just need some company, holla! palo alto and san jose are close. :]

aww i know how hard it is. it sucks. but just try to keep yourself as busy as possible. at least you have school. try to keep your mind on that and try to rely on your friends to keep you as busy as possible. they won't understand how hard it is for you but at least they can be there for you as much as possible. i know it's going to be hard but you can get through it. and it will make your relationship grow so much stronger!

Aww I'm sorry hun. I met my hubby 3 days before he left for bootcamp. The moment I met him I knew he was someone special. We spent every other moment with each other. I remember going to the recruiters office with him the day he left. I was pretty strong there but as soon as I got into my car I started bawling. I didn't think I would since I had just met him but it was tough. So I understand that. It sucks that you might not get to go to his PIR. I know you hate flying but if it works with school go. I promise you that you won't regret it. It is one of the most amazing experiences ever. Anyways, I hope that you are doing well. I know it's tough but it will get a little easier with time. How long have you two been together?

aww when does he leave? I'll tell you this...going through bootcamp is hard...it will be harder on him then you. so the advice i will give you is when you write, write all of the time and try to stay positive. But honestly if you think you are close now it will make you 10 times closer. at least it did for me and my hubby. If you need to talk or anything just let me know. I'm here for you 10 percent while you go through it.

Be strong and hope for the best. It's always the worst in the beginning but try not to let it get to you. He'll be back, you know he will. :] I wasn't able to go to my boyfriend's MEPS. He's actually from Hawaii. Our relationship was originally a long-distance relationship, so... yeah. It gets really hard sometimes, but you manage. Stay strong, for your fiance and yourself!
