Hi- My son PIR was 10/30. I am worried-- he has a cell but has not contacted me or his girlfriend in over a week. He is waiting as it looks like others are but it's not like him to not stay in contact. He's quarters (?) are in the Enterprise... do...

For Navy families that have a son or daughter serving the military as an FC or an ET on ships. For subs - look for the SECF group. Our chance to share and learn more about their jobs and schools.

My recommendation is to keep checking the RTC website until you see your son's division listed. I estimated my son's PIR and got it wrong. I was off by a week. For him, Boot Camp was 7 1/2 weeks, not 8 or 9. It just depends on how long it takes to...

Hi, my son also left for boot camp on Aug. 26 and the recruiter said today she thinks it will be Oct. 30, but will call me and let me know for sure tomorrow. He is in Ship 10, Div. 370, is your son? He has been in 2 weeks today. God bless all.

About me:
I'm Matt's proud mom. We are from beautiful Hayden Idaho (North Idaho). Very proud of the two children I have and the two step children I have. I adore our 3 grandchildren! Our whole family enjoys outdoor activities-- summer to winter-- doesn't matter.
I am here to support or represent my:
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Ask questions if not sure about anything. Our recruiter Amanda was awesome. I called her a lot!! If I had any concerns she has been there. We got very involved in everything we could prior to BC.

We ran 3 times a week, and he was in PE in school. It will help in BC.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi Matt's Mom! Welcome to the AECF group! Is Matt going to be an ET or FC after he graduates? Both are great rates with lots of school on the front end. Our son is an FC and graduated from C school in August - he is now with his first ship in Hawaii. My hubby was an FC for 10 years as well, if you have any questions, please let me know.

I got a call tonight saying that graduation for her division had changed to October 30th because of the holiday. Did you get a call like that? Jessica is in ship 10 div 368.

Not to through any kinks in your plans...I think this is the most aggrivating time..trying to make plans..but remember the term coined in the Navy.."Hurry up and wait". If your son is in a PUSH division they graduate earlier. You will get a packet with information and anticipating date of graduation which could all change if your recruit fails a test or is held back for medical or any other reason. At the end of BC they will have to do battle stations then you get a call IM A SAILOR.. We honestly was out the door when Nate's division was allowed to call. It is flustrating, at best, but it is how the Navy works. Good luck and well when you see your son at PIR...it is like looking at him when he was born...It is ALL worth it!!! Oh..and being a Navywife for 20 years I STILL have not learned patients.*LOL*

from what I've learned, you'll get a 'packet' in the mail telling you about graduation. It is WORTH it to stay in Navy Lodge because they have lots of info, good rates, and is CLOSE to where you need to go (leave very early like if they say 9, go at 6:30 or so.
if you let me know where you want to fly from and approx when, I'll help you look for ticket prices on Travelocity and expedia.
just email me

Yes, my Navy son wants to travel too, but being a Nurse in VA, he may not get to escept when he has leave time. That's all right with me. The BC part for OCS was not as rigorous as what your son had to go through and that is probably a good thing. Exercise has never been his forte. Have a good weekend. PD
