My son is starting his third module BECC. His rank will be an HT as well. How far along is your son in his studies? I haven't heard anything about the HT positions being full.

Hi NorCal Mom, Nice to see another Mom from Northern California. I live in Petaluma, near Santa Rosa. My daughter is in Division 942, she had Battle Stations last night, just waiting for that call. I'm at work, very lucky that I can bring up this website. My computer at home is down.
Are your bags packed. I can't wait, we leave Wedneday out of SFO and staying at the Ramada Inn. Have a good day.....

My Husband and I went to Niagra Falls a few years ago. It was one of the most emotional places I had ever been. I cried like a baby on the maid of the mist. I knew it was Niagra Falls the minute I saw your picture.

Hello, from Nathan;s mother, Jill.We are flying into O'Haire on sept2nd. We are staying in waukengan at the Ramada Inn. We stayed there five years ago for our older sons (PIR). Hoping that Nathan gets liberty for the week-end. He is going to A school in pensicola. IT schooling. Same as his brother. I sure hope nathan doesn't have to do the"grad and go". They find out only three days before Graduation. I can't wait to hug him. We thought this process would be easier this 2nd time around. We were wrong! hahah. bye, jill

I certainly would purchase those tickets ASAP you will not know if he has finished everything until well they are done with boot camp. I would never wait till the last min as you will never get a flight. you must just figure that he will pass everything, some times you do not know if they passed battle stations until the day before graduation. Please get those tickets and the hotel room and be prepared to ejnoy a great graduation

Hi & welcome to Navy for Mom's:)) You will find a lot of answers, support and encouragement here. My daughter, Ashley (20), has been in the Navy for 2 years and is an IT3 & my son Tim (19) has been in since Feb 2008 stationed on the USS Nimitz.. What will your son be doing with the Navy? If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm glad you joined and look forward to hearing more about you & your recruit. Pat

Profile Information

About me:
I am a public health nutritiionist working for the Women, Infants, and Children Program (WIC). I also am a credentialed primary grade teacher. My husband & I have been married for 30 yrs.
Our youngest son has made the decision to enlist in the Navy.
We are very happy for him and his mature decision; although I have to admit I'm a bit afraid. We support our son in his decision and want him to succeed and become the best person he can be.
I am here to support or represent my:
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Waiting to leave for Boot Camp
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Needed to learn more about it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
At this point in time, it is a little premature to say anything. I met his Petty Officer just once and he was willing to answer my questions and concerns. He has been supportive of my son; with the exception of the last DEP meeting and my son said he did not even acknowledge he was there. That disappointed my son. He said another officer came over and told him how proud he was of his progress. So, this kind of worried me. But, perhaps that was a lesson in itself.
Perhaps the lesson learned is that you learn for yourself; not to seek approval from others.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
