Profile Information

About me:
I am a 39 year old happily married mother of 3. However, our oldest son was killed March 19th, 2007 while working offshore in a drilling accident. My middle son Terry, left May 28th for Great Lakes.. His job will be a Rescue Swimmer. He is married to a beautiful young woman, Kristen and has a stepson Seth who is 4. We are blessed and thankful to have them in our lives. My youngest daughter just graduated MHS and will be attending UNO in the fall.
I am here to support or represent my:
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Be supportive of our Children. It was very scary for me being I had already lost a Son but I know that when God is ready to call them home, he will. ASK questions over and over.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
My Son TJ left May 28th for bootcamp in Great Lakes Ill. He is going to be a Rescue Swimmer. I am a bit nervous but I know that God will keep him protected and will not take another Child from me. I also find comfort in knowing that his older brother is watching over him day and night. Christopher my oldest son killed March 19th, 2007 was 13 days shy of making his 21st birthday. He was TJ's idol... I almost lost TJ after Christopher passed away. He took a bad road because he could not deal with the loss but has since gotten married to a beautiful young woman who is staying here with us while he is in boot camp. He is very excited about the Navy.. I am so thankful, allthough I was scared, It was the best decision he has made in his life...

I am one proud Navy Mom..... I love you more than life itself son, Momma is so PROUD OF
YOU......

13 days till graduation

13 days and I will finally see his sweet face... Graduating from boot camp at Great Lakes, Ill. Div 836 I am so proud. There have been so many positive changes. I thank God every day because 18 months ago, this would have been a dream.

After the death of my oldest son, he took a bad turn and I nearly lost him twice. Now, He is married, in the Navy and really has grown into a fine young man. GOD IS GOOD..... He is so thankful for the life he now has and the amazing wife God has blessed him with.… Continue

3 weeks from today I get to see my baby graduate

At first it felt like this day would never come. Just 3 more weeks? It's been so hard but I have to come to terms with the fact that he is grown now with a family of his own and he will not be here every day. There may be times I have to go 6 months to a year without seeing his sweet face but at least I can hear his voice and with todays technology, I will be able to see him over the webcam. This has been such a comfort with my Brother who is serving his 1 year tour in Iraq. Cant wait for Octobe… Continue

Half way through

Well, My Son is now half way through with basic. Graduation is scheduled for July 24th. The days are starting to drag by. Since losing my oldest Son, there havent been many days that I have not spoken to him. This is so incredibly hard for me. He is writing to his wife every day as he should be but it's hard not hearing much from him even by mail. I did get one letter which I read often and got to speak to him for a few minutes when he got his first call.

Just wondering how things are going? Ho… Continue

Missing him

It's been a little over 3 weeks since my baby boy left for boot camp. I went to the Grocery yesterday and when I reached the frozen food section where he had been working, I burst into tears. I miss him so much.

He did get to call last week but I only spoke to him for a minute so his wife could catch up on all that's going on. He sounded great. He said he cant wait to see us all at Graduation which is scheduled for July 24th... He is 13 seconds behind on his swim which has him really down but I… Continue

I'm going to look up the Navy Lodge. I picked the Red Carpet Inn because it was the closest to the base. If you go click the Events tab at the top of your page, it lists what's going on July 23 and beyond.

Thanks for sharing. You should be very proud of your children. They have done so well. I appreciate you sharing with me, I know how you feel about your angel. I have also lost a few. May the Lord always smile on them. I wish your children the best in their careers. I am a l am a little worried about my son, but I know the Lord has him. He does not share very much with us, so we know he is the man for the postion. I really miss him. Have a blessed evening. I look forward in sharing with you.
