Former Jr. High School RN...mother of 2, a married daugther, .... with the youngest , my son joining the Navy on April 15, 2009. I now mentor others and make women feel beautiful and loved through my Mary Kay business. I love people and making a difference in the lives of others.

From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
I am still new. My son is in basic training now. Because of N4M my experience is getting better daily.... thanks !!!!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Actually, now that I think about it, I don't think that they are allowed to use cell phones anyway. It's a security issue as cell phones can be tracked.

As far as his cell phone goes, unless he has a phone with an international chip in it, his phone won't work. My son bought calling cards on the boat to call internationally to us. He uses the phones on the ship. I think they were about $10 each. I bought some more here and mailed them to him. Who knows how long it will take him to get it though.

Hi Gayle: I talked to Aaron last night and asked if he knew someone named Eric and he didn't. He asked me what his last name was and I'm "assuming" it's the same as yours. So he said he'd look out for that name. I now know, after looking at your pictures, that he is in the band. So I'll tell him that too. I didn't even know there was a NavyforDads, how cool! Well, Aaron's dad is a member of the eternal site called NavyDadsInHeaven.com ! He gets an eagle's eye view. (smile)

Hi Gayle: Aaron's PNR was very touching. I was soooo excited!!! I got some good pics and we had a chance to spend the entire weekend with him. We made it back on Sunday evening. Aaron moved to his new location a couple days ago and he's getting used to this "new found" freedom. LOL. But I'm not sure if he's met Eric or not, if he did he hasn't mentioned it yet. I'd love for them to meet too. Maybe as soon as they can check e-mails or have access to the internet they can log on NavyMoms and see if they recognize each other's pics. Keep me posted. I know you were one proud mom too.!!
