Also when my husband was stationed in VA BCH the bases there had a list of places that they highly encourage the sailors to not patronize. This included car dealers and bars and rental companies for furniture, etc.

You can call the Red Cross or the Ombudsman for the ship. The ship should have a website. You should be able to google it.
There was no line when I got there but they sure did have one going out the door when I left. The clerk was and always is cranky when he is at the window. And very very slow.
OK I just shipped 6 boxes to the Nimitz group. 2 boxes more to the Kuwait Unit. And 2 boxes to the SeaBee Unit.

I did not get to GL till 7:00pm. Missed graduation but for a good reason. Me & my oldest son who goes to BC 12/14 were over at the VA helping to set up for the Veterans parade today. He gets volunteer hours towards the Navy Volunteer Medal.
My son also graduated today. I decided at the last minute to drive up from Ohio.

Yes we don't have a choice but to move. The Dallas MEPS are doing a courtesy ship for the recruiters here. He goes to boot camp on 12/14.
I will ask the recruiter and deppers if any this morning. They are setting up and getting a float ready this morning for a Veterans parade over at the VA for tomorrow. Hopefully there will be some deppers there. But I think most of them are still ...

- I have a son who left for boot camp in May and is due to graduate in July. And I have another son that is due to leave for boot camp in December. The only thing that bothers me is I don't hear from the one that has left already enough. it is a wait for the call thing.

- When I heard “Navy,” I:
- Was proud and encouraged it
- From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
- My husband is retired Navy. And my father is retired Army Special Forces from the Vietnam Era. And surprising enough grandpa took it very well when the boys told him they were enlisting in the Navy.
- Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
- It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
