Does anyone else have a recruit who left for boot camp on June 22?  My son left on that day & I was looking for moms who are at the same stage of this that I am.

Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
You have to be supportive & understanding. Trust you sailor at all times & always say I love you before they get underway, it is as hard on them as it is on the family they leave.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Yes we are in Pearland (near Houston) Texas.  My son's name is Derek Chautin. It would be great if he could make friends with SR's of mom's that I am making friends with on here!

i got my letter friday or Saturday. i checked my mail box Saturday and I was so happy to see his handwriting, They have to use cap letters and a pencil to address envelope.(guessing) It looked great. I went to my mom's and went in the B.R. by myself and looked to see if he wrote me a message, when I saw that he did, I started crying. I havent been crying alot, Just alot of praying for him. He wrote that "he was worried about ME and hopes i am not stressing becuz I shouldn't". now that really made me boo hoo, but a happy boo hoo. then he wrote in large caps "I LOVE YOU"

Also he said hopefully the next time I see you will be at MY graduation. Originally he said I didnt need to go...lol

i hope you got your letter today. please let us know

My son, Austin, is also an MM.    I don't know how you will handle two children being in the Navy.  I can't imagine.  We are consumed with this one son in the Navy.  Since we haven't gotten to talk to him much (throughout his schooling), our world just about stops when he calls or visits.

How long has your son been in the Navy?  Austin has been in just a little over two years.

I have a question for you, or your daughter in law.  My son's fiance received an email from lady on a phone tree about a meet and greet this Saturday.  Said they would be releasing some "good information you won't want to miss".  Seeing as we are 7 hours away I was wondering if there is any way I could give you Ali's (my son's fiance)or my phone numbers so that she could call us and pass the good news along.  I know that is asking alot, but we want to keep informed and we are so far away.  If your daughter in law would rather we call her, we would be glad to do that too.

Thank you so much for helping us make this transition.  We are new to this part of the Navy life and don't want to miss out on anything.

Hope you are having a great week.. I am so glad tomorrow is Friday.

Cameron is in Div941. He is a snare drummer so I am hoping that you should be able to capture him. I know where Annaccoco is been through it a couple of times. Hope to see you if you come into lake Charles. I work in L&D at Womens and Childrens.

Wow you are awsome for doing that and I am forever grateful. You know what these past few weeks have been like for us all and just to get a glimpse of my son will make my heart soar. Less than 3 weeks till PIR for us. You must be so excited, enjoy and love on your sailor. If you know when your SR BS21 is I will burn a candle for him.
