Hi Pat,
I'm from Canton, that's fairly close to Mansfield! My son Matt is also on the GW. He's an MC (Mass Communications).

Welcome to Navy for Moms. My sailor is currently waiting for final orders to go to Hawaii. He is a sonar tech aboard a submarine. He's been in for a year now and I'm excited that he gets to go to Hawaii! You'll find a wealth of information here on this site. Along with Friendship, Support, Determination, Inspiration and good conversation! Have a Wonderful 4th of July and lets not forget why we celebrate it and how we preserve it! GO NAVY

Wow I hope when he is in Hawaii you get to see him more often! Mine is in Norfolk assigned to a destroyer there. He just got out of A-school this spring and was assigned to his ship. We are still pretty new at this whole thing, & are adjusting to the new lifestyle slowly. I live in a little town just North of Springfield, Ohio that most people have never heard of. Have a great 4th of July weekend!!!

Hi Pat, welcome to Navy for Mom's:)) You will find a lot of answers, support and encouragement here. My daughter, Ashley (20), has been in the Navy for 2 years and is an IT3 & my son Tim (19) has been in since Feb 2008 stationed on the USS Nimitz. What is your son/daughter doing with the Navy? If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm glad you joined and look forward to hearing more about you & your Sailor. Pat
