Can you fail BC?

I have some questions that I need answered. I could call the recruiter but they never return my phone calls. (And sometimes I think they tell you what you want to hear ; ). My son is in his 3rd week of BC and he failed the dead mans float. Does he need to take the whole swim quals over again or just that portion. Also he said that he failed his baseline PT test by a couple of pushups. I know that I am probably jumping the gun being so worried but I can't ask him these questions and N4M's is the… Continue

Received our 1st letter today

I just wanted to write and tell everybody that we received our 1st letter today from Ryan. He left for BC on June 3rd. He says that he is very homesick but I guess that was to be expected. After he got through telling us that he was homesick his very next sentence was that he was proud of himself on what he has accomplished so far. That made me cry (again). He said that he failed the dead mans float but he is not letting that get him down and he says that he will pass the next time, that I have… Continue

Just waiting

I'm new to Navy for Moms. Ryan came to me literally one day and said that he was going to talk to a Navy recruiter. I told him that I would go with him. He needed to be in the DEP's program because he had his GED. He would have to wait at least 3 months to leave. I thought that I had prepared myself enough. Boy, was I wrong. Ryan left on June 3rd for basic training. I though that was the hardest thing. I think it was actaully when I received the 30 second phone call. He sounded "scared". Not sur… Continue

Still waiting on a address and no letter or box. Going to call recruiter here soon to see if she has her address yet. Reading the comments from people and the encouragement everyone gives to everyone helps alot. Take care and I am here if you need me. I carry my phone around with me like its a part of my body. I do not want to miss that call. Scares me. Hugs to everyone

Just wanted to say thank you for your encouragement I recieved a letter friday from Chris. He sounded really home sick as well. It was wonderful to recieve that letter but I cried as I was reading it. I miss him so bad.. He said in his letter that it was tough but he's done fine so far. He just kept saying he missed everyone he said especially you mom. He said he couldn't wait to see us at graduation. Oh yea and he said he wanted to make us proud especially my husband. You could just tell that he was really home sick. That made me really sad. Have you recieved your sons stuff for graduation yet? I haven't and I would like to get a date I'm pretty sure our sons will graduate at the same time because there div are so close more than one div graduates together.
