Send lots of letters. My son told me to "iron" the letters, easier to pack them in. They do get mail everyday but can only write on Sundays until about 3-4 weeks in. I cried alot, he was my first of 8 children to leave home, but now very excited t...
We're driving up next week for PIR 9/25. Any suggestions on the roads? Do all the graduates only have Fri,Sat, & Sun to be with family?
Just got a letter today! He says Battle Stations are on next monday. Very excited about graduation in 7 days! Thanks so much for all the encouragement here!
This 4 day weekend at Thanksgiving. Can they come home then or not?

- Happily married for 20 yrs to a sailor. Blessed mother of 11 children, 3 oldest married with 5 grandchildren. Of our eight still at home, we love making the memories with them! So proud of our oldest son who left for boot camp yesterday as Hospital Corpsman. Praying for Lynn and all our sailors!

- Graduation was amazing! I was so proud! Actually it was seeing how proud the "kids" were of themselves that was so wonderful! My son went to A school In Dam Neck, Virginia. He says only a few from his division went down with him. He was on hold but starts classes Tuesday. I invested in a webcam so now when I chat with him I can also see him. At least he has warm weather!

- My husbands uncle lives in Pawhuska. I love it up that way. My son leaves for boot camp in March and then onto Charleston for 18months of A School.

- Thank you, thank you, thank you, for the news. I got a letter yesterday and all he said was that he was doing his PFA today (18th) and that he hopes he could pass the push ups part of it. At least we know that tomorrow is the Captain's Cup and they get to relax (a little) and play.

JoAnna said… - He called on Sept 12 (I remember because it was my birthday)..... They got a 4.96 out of 5.0 as a division and earned extra phone time/arcade time... He said Battlestations were Sunday night starting at 19:00 hours..... I should get my call sometime tomorrow... Hope this helps...

I just asked questions about food, who he has made friends with, who he knows from the list of people who I have met here, has he passed his tests, what does he miss the most about home, what does he want to do PIR weekend. Just stuff I wanted to know...he sent them all back so I don't think there is a problem. Our son is not a "sharer" or a "writer" so this has worked for us!!! Good Luck!!!!!
