Hi sally,
I got a phone call today from marie! she is doing good except for the cold that she has for a long time. she's worried that she may not be able to breath in her final PT test this coming weekend. I asked her about emily and she said there's 2 emily in her div. but the thing is they call each other on their last name. i forgot that's how military people call each other i told her that i don't know about the last name b/c we're not allowed to give that info.

she said they all know each other in the same div. including the boys. She's very surprised how i meet the moms from the Boot Camp. i told her that i joined N4M and that's how i meet the moms.

Hi, wanted to welcome you to the AECF group. Sounds like you have a very sharp daughter who needs to wrap up boot camp and report to her A school! You have some exciting days ahead and lots and lots of school for her rate. Usually about the 4th week of boot camp they will call her in and tell her if she is an ET or FC. It comes down to what the Navy needs at the moment but both are great rates. Our son left GL in January and is still in C school, he is an FC and just received orders to his first ship...out of Hawaii! He's excited, he got first pick in the class and it was a choice of Hawaii or Norfolk...I'd take Hawaii too if I was him!!! Your next couple of weeks maybe long as you wait for your first letter but please let us know how we can be of support to you. I'm sure your daughter will do a great job in boot camp and although it may not seem like it today...boot camp does go faster than you might expect.

Good Morning Puclas, I know your daughter just recently left for Boot Camp; just wanted to see how you are doing and to say stay connected with the ladies on this website. They are great and will get you through the oh so lows and will rejoice with you through the oh so highs. Take care and best to your daughter, you and your family.

From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:

Through this Navy experience, I now believe:

Have to Quit Smoking

One thing I was very glad about when my daughter left for boot camp was the fact that now she would have to give up her nasty smoking habit. Being an ex-smoker myself (since 1993) I know how difficult kicking the habit can be. Wondering who else has had kids leave for b/c that will be giving up the habit as well.

Emily leaves for Boot Camp

The excitement in my daughter's eyes these past 3 weeks tells me that this is where her head and heart are at - either that or she is a very good actress! She loves a challenge and I think that the Navy will give her just that and more. She's 24, a college graduate and has been working as a mutual funds accountant for the past 18 months. But this job did not offer the challenges she thought that it would - so she has been looking for other employment - as well as the Navy - and well, she left to… Continue
