Hi Randy it is nice to see a dad on the site. My husband is too lazy to join anything but fantasy sports things.
I want to say thank you to your son Christopher for serving in the military.
My prayers and best wishes are with you and your son.

Yes that's the Peleliu. I found a couple of cool pics of the ship, I'll have to send them to you. It took a lot of searching to find pictures of the ship that it didn't look like a rust bucket. LOL Hopefully they will do something about that while in dry dock. Did you get to see the ship while you were in San Diego? I don't know when, but I want to get out there sometime.
Adam is used to snow and cold, but he never liked it much, so San Diego is his kind of weather. He got a kick out of the sailors at Great Lakes that had never seen snow before. The first time it snowed up there they were outside rolling around in it. Too funny!!
Wow, I didn't know they could volunteer for another ships deployment. You'll have to keep me informed about the deployment (private message of course) since Adam hasn't experienced that yet.
Navigator of the ship? That sounds very cool!!!

Hi Randy, Yes, my son Adam is on the Peleliu. He's a machinist mate and has been there since February. This is his first ship assignment. He is doing well there and loves San Diego, especially because the weather is better than it is here in Erie PA. LOL
I'm so glad you found me. There aren't many Peleliu people here.
Here are the others with Peleliu sailors, that I know of. They don't seem to be online much though.

There's also a Gator Navy group, for the amphibious ships if you would like to join. You can find it from my page.
How does your son like San Diego and the Peleliu?
Are your pictures from hurricane Ike? We were in Great Lakes for Adam's PIR then. It was a very soggy weekend.

Woohoo!! I think you wanted Hawaii but its close...hopefully that means you will get to see him more often. Ashley is still dealing with the doctors office every day so getting things done has been difficult. She told me that she begins moboards today. She was really pushing to graduate friday but since she is still on medical for who knows how long and has not received any orders, she's not rushing to go back on hold cleaning. She says she will finish by Monday and graduate next friday. She also really wants San Diego but says she will be ok with where ever they decide to send her. (Her family wants VA, although vacationing in SD really sounds nice) Congratulations to Chris!!...Keep in touch.

Hi Randy! Thank you for the offer of support...please ask me any questions you might have...but I'm new to the Navy stuff....real new! Kaston, my son, has been in 16 months and is now stationed in Norfolk, Va. It's so hard to get information out of him! He's doing well though.

Hi Randy - you must be excited to have your son home in less than 2 weeks!! It's great that he will be there for both Christmas and New Years. Maryssa will be here from the 20th - 28th so I am looking forward to it. I have her banner sitting here - waiting to be hung up before she pulls in the driveway! My son and I spent Thanksgiving with her in San Antonio and had a good time. The drive was long so I think I will fly out for her A school grad. as I don't think I can drive it again so soon. I hope you enjoy your time with your son this Christmas - tell him I send my prayers and thank him for his service...
