He is gone now, and I am trying to adjust

Well, my husband left this week. I am really trying to adjust to it all. I have been super busy at work, so don't have much time to think about it. It's when I get home from work that has been difficult. I am so lookin forward to Ryan's PIR so that is helping a bit. I don't know when Ryan's battle station is yet. Just kinda waiting to hear from him again. I am so excited to see him. I can hardly believe it is only 5 days away.

I know I will get used to this, it is just going to be very trying a… Continue

What am I going to do?

So my husband came home last night from being gone for a while for training for Iraq. He is leaving again on Sunday for Texas and then Iraq and won't be home for about fifteen months. I was so happy to have him home last night. He was home for about an hour when it hit me. A wonderful relaxing feeling came over me and for the first time in forever I was relaxed. I guess I felt like I didn't have to worry about him for once. I know it was god that came thru my whole body and carried me thru the n… Continue

Times are tough right now!!!!!

So, I can hardly wait to see my Ryan graduate, only fourteen more days. And not to mention how cool it will to be in Chicago for the fourth of July.

My husband is leaving for Iraq on June 25, 2008. He is in the National Guard reserves. He has been gone for a while now for training. He is coming home this weekend for just two days, then he's gone for 13 months. Don't know how I am going to cope right now. He is my very best friend, we always do everything together. I am trying to get used to doi… Continue

I am so glad you received a letter today. Mine usually come on Thursday, so I hope to receive one tomorrow. Stephen says he has been sick with a cold. Has Ryan been sick too? At first, he refused to go see the doctor, but he finally went and got some cold meds. Hopefully, he has been feeling better.

I can't wait until graduation!!! I bet you can't either.

Sara,
We're so glad you're here with us!! Being both a military wife and a military mom---WOW! Being at Great Lakes for Ryan's graduation on the July 4th weekend- that will be something to look forward to! We're also going to be there that weekend to visit with our daughter who PIRed on 5/16 and is going to her schools there. There will be a fireworks display on 7/4 that will be open to the public- should be fantastic. Hope you enjoy the visit!

I am just protective at times. I am not concerned about people on this site at all. But I don't know about people reading the NFM on the internet. Sometimes I do wish it was password protected so only members could view certain pages. I also read blogs and forums here until I felt save with the members. I love it here, and feel close to members and being beside them through highs and lows and highs.

No one is trying to scare you Sara, just trying to think ahead, you said hubby and son are both not going to be home for a bit. Kinda like having your newspaper picked up by the neighbor when you go on vacation. Know what I mean? We do have many Moms that are extreemly open with their information and that is okay too if they are confortable with it.
Talk to you soon, if you need anything let me know :)

Sara, You may want to change your name and take your last name off. You have said that your husband is leaving, and my heart is breaking for you. I am concerned about you staying safe.

Sara, read your post and so glad that you have a great daughter home with you while your husband is away serving our country. I know some days will be harder than others but right now I just wanted to say, enjoy your time with your husband this weekend, make every minute count, allow him to pamper YOU and just make the most of it. Then you will have your son's graduation to look forward to and his communications will improve greatly after boot camp.
Enjoy your Weekend

He will be getting liberty that weekend they are free from 8 am to 8 pm it will be a nice visit for you and you will get an extra day from what I hear he will grad on thursday. You can book your hotel and so forth at this time but be aware that if he is set back for any reason he will not graduate on that day but for the most part he should be all set. Have fun and enjoy the time !
