Amazed...

I just have to say watching my daughter graduate on Friday was amazing!!! It is something I will never forget. The whole day was exciting from start to finish. The highlight of my day was when they called Liberty... being able to hug my daughter for the first time in 8 weeks was wonderful. And seeing her in her dress whites brought tears to my eyes.  If you have a graduation coming up take every second of it in. Take as many pictures as you can and enjoy your new Sailor as much as I did mine!See More

Just a quick question...my daughter will graduate July 13th and I was just wondering what time I need to be at RTC the morning of graduation...I know the doors open at 7 am. Does it get crowded quickly? Do I need to be there that early? Thanks for any advice. I am getting so excited to see my SR.See More

Hey everyone, I have been getting letters like crazy from Kay! She was in SIQ most of last week so she had plenty of time to write. She has told me so much it is hard to remember some of it. She told me about some of your daughters that she is friends with. She said that everyone is very nice, she loves her RDC's she said they are super nice, much nicer than the other div's RDC's. She says the food is like highschool food. Not to bad. She said she gets to take a shower and shave on Sundays, and…See More

What a difference a day makes!

I got my phone call!!!!! She just called and I got 17 mins with my sweet girl. She is feeling much better. The reason for not getting the call Tues was she had her wisdom teeth out that day. She said she was doing great and she is excited for the next few weeks. Thank God for answering prayers. I feel like I can breathe now.See More

Rough week..

Posted on June 16, 2012 at 7:26am 7 Comments

This has been such a rough week for me. My last letter from my daughter was not a good one, she has been so sick this past week, everything you could catch at boot camp she has caught. It is so hard for me not to be able to help her or see for myself that she is ok. Of course that letter is 6 days old so I am sure she is feeling better now. She was supposed to get a call home on Tues and the call never came, I am sure there was a good reason she didn't get to call but I really needed that…

Hi Sherri, thankyou so much,...Samanthas letter was really good also...she said that RDC's were tough but hilarious...said that when someone gets dessert they must do push ups for every calorie...lol....she said they caught her dog tags out one day and made her stand in front of everyone and count the beads on the chain....passed her swim test and is march leader...im am so hoping to hear her voice soon...sounds like our baby girls are good...such a relief

sherri,

I see you joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!!  We are a friendly, caring group of moms always willing to listen and support.  Please feel free to jump in and join our chats!!  We like to discuss everything from our sailors to our jobs, weather, whatever.  It's also a great place if you want to yell, scream, vent, cry - - there is no judgment involved!!!  Brag about your sailor but also tell us when you are hurting because you miss her so!!!  I so understand how you feel about having to let her go.  We don't have to like it but it's something we have to do!!!  One of my girls did her time and is out now but still working as a civilian contractor with the Navy.  Her twin sister leaves for OCS in May or June (we don't have a definate date yet) and then two years of flight school.  We will be here to help when you need someone to talk to!!  Looking forward to getting to know you and your sailor!!  Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!
