Hello everyone, I've been MIA in prep for my trip to RI. I'm coming with a crew of seven, including my OC 86 year old grandmother coming all the way from California! I kind of got stuck with all of the planning, plus school and my two jobs...yes, ...

About me:
I'm 26 and a student at the moment. My beau is in the officers program right now and I've been looking for anyone who can give me insite on what to expect through this process since I am brand new to military life. My boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years and I can only say that being with him through out this process has strengthened not only our relationship but it has helped me grow as a person.
I am here to support or represent my:

From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Support is so very important. Make sure you have it and give it to the person in service!

HI.
Thanks for your invite! We won't be going to RI until Thursday morning so I won't be able to meet the group. Maybe, since the class is small, we'll met up! I'll be the old lady! Actually a grandmother but Aaron's "mom."

Oh sorry, DB means boyfriend.

Just an FYI, Kevin heard it would take 6 months to class up in Pensacola too, but he ended up only being down there for 4 months total (granted he already has his PPL so he didn't need to go through IFS, but his roomate went through IFS and was down in Corpus not much later than Kevin was).

I hope you have a great Thanksgiving, even without him :)

Yes, kevin was able to stay with my (at the Navy lodge) the night before graduation. I think he stayed with me there Wednesday night and Thursday night actually. We didn't get to see each other a whole lot before graduation, but we spent much more time together than I had expected.

I won't get to see him for Thanksgiving (his parents are going down, but I am going home to my family). I will *hopefully* get to see him the weekend after for a wedding, although he'll pretty much only be coming home sat morning, going to the wedding, and flying out Sunday morning. He'll be home for Christmas though, and then I'm going to visit him in January... so there's a light at the end of the tunnel for us.
I'm guessing Thanksgiving isn't going to work for you, but will you get to see your DB for Christmas?

Just wanted to let you know that there is a Northern California Navy Moms group (dads, gf, wives, etc all included). Click HERE for link to the Northern California Navy Moms group. Look for the "+Join ...." and click on the words. After you join, post a comment and introduce yourself to the group. Scroll back to the past comments posted and get to know the members. We have been very active with 5 events since September and 2 more coming up in Dec - great opportunity for you to meet others with LOs in the Navy. Some photo from our Oct 25 event - more on the group's page. My son is a nuke officer on a sub. He graduated from OCS in Mar '07. He is currently out on deployment. Regards, Bea.

Yes, you def. want to look your best! Kev was at the top of his class too. He got an award and it was such a great day. He graduated in April, but was still in the dress blues (which are actually black, fyi). I wore a light yellow strapless cocktail dress to Hi Mom's (that's what you'll want to wear something fancy to). For graduation, I worse a nice sundress. I brought that sundress and a more formal dress with me and let him choose which I wore that morning. They play the Hi Moms as a class, so he'll be able to tell you the appropriate dress code. Kev's class did theirs at the o club and it was really nice.

Dec 4 is so close! I am so excited for you :) Are you going to his graduation?

During the summer, we got to see each other almost once a month. I went down to Pensacola in May and August and he came home for a weekend (friend's wedding) in June. I went down to Corpus Christi, TX for Labor Day weekend (it was his birthday), and haven't seen him since. It's been 10 weeks... not that I'm counting ;). Hopefully, I'll see him Dec 5 for a wedding; if not, I'll see him at Christmas.

So, we haven't seen each other nearly as much as I'd like... but we make do. If you don't have webcams, I highly suggest getting them. It's really nice to be sitting here doing homework and be able to see him on the computer screen :)

Hi Sophia! I think my info is wrong, my bf is actually in Corpus now for primary flight school. But he was in pcola before that for API. How far into OCS is yours?
