Hi "bsmom," and welcome to Indiana Moms!  Sorry, but I'm NOT from the northern part of the state.  There are a few members here that ARE in the northern parts and organize get togethers for up there.

I am however, the administrator for the group, so if you have any questions, please ask. My son is a Nuke MM serving on the submarine ALABAMA, based out of Bangor, WA. He's been in for 4 years.

If you're ever near Indy, there's a monthly informal dinner on the west side of town, in Avon. You can find any month's dinner details by clicking on the 3rd Monday of the Event calendar (right-hand column). We'd love you to join us - and you're welcome to bring family or friends! From time to time, we also have regional gatherings in various parts of the state.

Jump in with any questions or comments you may have. I think you'll find we're a nice bunch of folks and always willing to lend an ear for listening or a shoulder to cry on.

Hugs! k.

Hi, I'm new to the group, just want to touch base with as many people as I can. This is my first experience with a son/daughter in the service - it's all new to me - I'm looking forward to the graduation ceremony-just hope the weather is good for flights

Hi bsmom! I feel like a kindergarten kid who just found a familiar face! Do you know how many recruits are in a division? I'm new to the military life. My son is the first in our family. Got our form yesterday, got the box on Monday, he did manage to sneak a little note on the back of the card from his socks. Said he was having fun, wasn't as bad as he thought. Hope he knows that won't last! My husband went to the post office last night and mailed my letters. I miss him!

Welcome.  Since your Recruit is in Division 082, I think he might be going to have PIR on 02/18/11.  If so, you might want to look at, and maybe join, the group PIR 2-18-2011.  You might be able to find another mom with a Recruit in the same Division and if not, you will at least be connected with others who have loved ones at the RTC now.  Best of everything to you and yours on this journey.

Welcome to N4M’s. This site is full of information, support and encouragement. My son graduated boot camp Jan 29, 2010 and is now stationed in Sicily Italy as an IT.

If your profile or profile name contains last name (even if it is different from your rct/sailor)your rct/sailors first name or your e -mail address, I recommend that you change it for the safety of your sailor. Remember, this is a public site and anyone can read comments posted here.

Be wary of who you friend…before you accept a friend go to their page and see how active they are, the comments left, groups they’ve joined. If they have a lot of friends but no groups, no comments, click ignore and DO NOT FRIEND THEM…it is likely they are spammers, e-mail address harvesting

If you are a DEPer:
Please join the group http://www.navyformoms.com/group/bootcampmoms , (just point and click on the http address) there you will find new N4M’S as well as more seasoned N4M’s to guide you along.

Join this group http://www.navyformoms.com/group/deppersinbutnotyet read some of the discussions for good info

There is a group for each month rcts leave "Leavin for Boot Camp in (month they leave)" search groups and join this group...it will have info as well as connect you with other N4M's whose rcts leave that month.

Once you get your PIR (Pass In Review=graduation)date…search groups and join the PIR group..if it hasn’t been formed yet YOU may need to form it.

Go to YouTube and search Navy Racks, boot camp, graduaton, Battlestations 21 (CNN does it)

Explore this site as well…Forums, Groups and Videos and check out the “Main” tab…lots of good info
