That even thought it is one of the most emotional things I have experienced, I know it will be the best thing that ever happened for him.

A School

Tom is currently in A school in Pensacola. He will graduate August 7th (CTR). I would love to hear from any other mom's with sailors in the same class!

PIR Hotels

I know that one of my big questions was where to stay while at PIR. You feel kind of rushed, and you are booking your motel sight unseen. After being in the great lakes area, I would highly recommend staying in Gurnee. It is so close to the base, the mall is right there and there are a million places to eat and nice hotels. We stayed in Waukegan at the Ramada which is also close, but not as many things to do. The rooms were fine, and room service was the way to go because the service in the rest… Continue

Colleen~ I was just reading and saw that your son is in San Angelo..Texas? I will be going there on Monday Sept 28th! I will make a point of bringing him something if you would like... I'll borrow a car if I have to!! (Taking 40 kids from Amarillo!)
