About me:
As soon as my youngest son Aurey graduated from college, he immediately met with his recruiter and never hesitated. He will be heading to the nuke program after graduating from boot camp on 12/4. I am extremely proud of him and am looking forward to his growth within the Navy.

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Education is power. I am so glad to be a member of Navy for Moms as I took advantage of a private tour of the USS Carney with other Navy for Moms in New York. I learned so much about the Navy that day. I am now more comfortable with my son's decision to enlist.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Thanksgiving in New York

Since my son is currently in boot camp, I would love to invite some sailors to my home for Thanksgiving. I live 30 minutes from Manhattan. Any suggestions who I could contact to extend this invitation?

Thanks for checking in on us. We are in the hurry up and wait mode. But I am grateful that the senators and congressmen responded to our situation and will bring attention to this appeal.

Sorry you won't be at graduation. The whole grad and go thing is tough. Hopefully you can get to his A school graduation.

I am so sorry you missed his call. Haven't heard a peep out of Todd mail or phone, apparently they were not getting any mail to date as of Tues the 20th. What is your son's name, age. I will add him to the sheets.

I can't believe your son had a chance to call already! I better keep my cell phone handy.

Everything I have been told is the Nuke program is really challenging. A friend of mine here in town has a son that just graduated from Power school. We saw him when he was home on leave and he said it was hard, but there was lots of help available. He also said about 20- 30 from his class did not pass. Having said that- my friends son was straight out of HS, smart obviously but no college. Your son should do fine. My biggest concern with Todd is he won't ask for help if he needs it. He is so certain he can do it by himself that he makes everything that much harder. Kids!

Todd turned 24 on the 9th, his 1st day of BC. He has been in college for 4.5 years, started out in engineering, moved to business and then kind of stalled. He has plenty of credits, just none that equal a degree. I was really excited when we learned about this program and the fact that he can put all of his Nuke education towards completing his degree.

What about your son? I imagine our guys will be in the same division at BC and go to Goose Creek together.
