Hi Juls58, Just to let you know, it is possible for him to finish up BC by xmas. Both of our sons were DEPers for many months prior to BC but it really depends on the timing and the positions available when they are recruited. They start "A" schoo...

Boy, I hadn't even thought about contract work! As you say, it would definitely be more bang for the buck since she won't have to worry about benefits. Hmm...once I mention the contracting to her, we may really need to start figuring out how to set a date! :)

Hi Trixie,
Thanks so much. Meg isn't ASHA cert. yet, but will be. I think her main fear was that she would be moving so often, that it would become difficult for her to get a job. But I hope that she would be staying in one place for at least a couple of years at a time, so hopefully that won't be an issue. I think it might be great for her to find something with the VA, then she could transfer as necessary. I think all that I have been relaying to her has helped to ease her mind quite a bit. Now, the next thing to figure out is how to plan a wedding around both her (soon to be) fiance's, and her brother's military schedules! THAT should be a daunting task! :) again, thanks!

Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
They are able to provide a level of support for the sailors that may appear, at times, to be hard to take but actually helps to build his self-confidence a little bit at a time.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
