When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
With DH being a sailor for 10+ years I am feeling relaxed in knowing that everything will be ok. DD likes to experience life and i know that she will do just that.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi Melissa,
Will your daughter be leaving tomorrow, or Tuesday? We expected our son to leave on Tuesday, but our son heard it may be tomorrow. I'm just trying to take it all in.
Thanks for your comment on my post,
Kathleen

Hi..it will be a pleasure getting to know you. I've been on Vacation this week so I'm in sort of lag right now..just getting readjusted. What your daugther is doing is normal although it can be painful. You want to be close, they are creating distance. It is not a sign for most of anything negative about how they feel about you, just their way of trying to prepare for what is ahead. Your daughter will do fine. She will eat well, work very hard, be challenged, somewhat sleep deprived, but she will be safe and stronger in the end. The weeks ahead will be challenging for you. Stay in touch and talk about your feelings. Allow yourself to feel what you feel..it's important. Be strong...it won't be long until PIR...stay busy ok...

Sincerely,

Angela
