going through 2nd deployment w/my Sailor

Hey y'all,

Well I am getting ready to deal with the 2nd deployment with my Sailor since we have been together. I feel I am more prepared and ready to be a big support & not give him reason to worry about me. I hope to be able to get additional tips on surviving these things by reading on others past experiences. :-)

A Mother's Poem

I kissed and hugged him and watched him walk away

He graduated Boot Camp and is now on his way

He stood tall and proud as he walked and waved

I couldn’t be happier of the road he has paved

The weekend was short how I wished for more days

Just in awe of his presence and new Navy ways

His focus and maturity came in quick and nine weeks

I know he will find whatever he seeks

I am back to waiting for calls and the mail

Never knowing when the time comes for him to… Continue

THE BOX

Yesterday, I received the box that had all her belongings in it. But it also had all the things that were on the list for my daughter to take. We bought a lot of stuff that was on that list including a swimsuit. Know how hard it is to find one of those this time of year? Why did they send all that stuff back? It was terrible getting the clothes that she had on. I miss her so bad!!

Any one else in Ship #6 Divi 919 ?

My son is in Ship #6 Divi 919. I was just wondering if anyone else out there is in the same Boat?

My son said that there were Mothers forming chat groups whose kids are grouped together.

Just thought I would ask.

Earthquake in Japan

Has anyone heard from any of our sailors in Japan? They had a 7.0 earthquake in Okinawa and I'm so worried about my son. What normally happens in these cases? He's a new sailor who just got deployed so I'm new to this. Do they normally go out on rescue missions? It seems that the base was a good distance away from the quake...or maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part. HELP anyone!!!

I got letters today! Yay!

Unfortunately I'm too pooped to type tonight but I just needed to celebrate getting my first real letters! He's doing great! Hopefully I'll have time before work tomorrow morning to elaborate! But I'm sooo happy!

I got two letters and my mom got two letters! I don't know if his girlfriend got any but at least we know he's doing well. So far he says its been pretty easy. He shared some of his nicknames (his brother had to explain one to me)!

The RDCs call him…

This transition may be more difficult than I thought it would be..

I'm constantly second guessing myself and it drives me insane! I have good days and bad days just like everyone else but here lately it seems to be more bad than good. I miss my husband so much that it hurts. We very rarely went a day with out eachother and now we have to go months w/ out seeing or speaking to eachother! The boys don't understand fully what is happening. My oldest is doing better than my youngest. They keep me going. I know if I didn't have them things would be 100 times worse.… Continue

Getting sick close to ship date.

I'm a little worried right now. I feel like I may be getting sick and I leave for boot camp in less than a week. Have any of you moms had that happen to your kid? Did they get kicked out of the Navy because of it? Please let me know your experience please. Thank You.

New Computer

My daughter just bought herself a new laptop. She is still capable of amazing me. I was going to send her laptop to her and our home computer went out last week. She called me and told me to keep her laptop that she was going to buy a new one that had the camera built into it for Skype and windows 7. She was so excited to go and make her first big purchase. She called last night and we got to see her. She looks wonderful. It was really nice to be able to see her. Internet is a wonderful…

Maybe a new Navy Mom

Good morning. My son announce 2 weeks ago he wanted to quit college and join the navy. I am not surprised he wants to join because he has talked about it since jr. high but hasn't pushed it in any way. He recently had a very good friend who died and I am assuming this is a reaction to his friends death. I have done a lot of researching on the processes the mena nd women go through. One thing I have def. learned--lots of abbreviations--help. Anyway, I am very very concerned he is making a…
