General message to everyone This site was created to help familys and loved ones of United States Sailors. We are not here to attack one another! We are all individuals with seperate thoughts and beliefs but we are united in or love and support of our sailors
I feel some individuals are using this site to vent thier anger and frustrations with themselves on others. I am very sorry that they feel the need to do this but they need to stop and consider that when a question is asked that they…

Hello,
I am interested in talking to some of the Moms in my sons class out at Nuke School. Interested in hearing how their children are doing and coping with the long hours of school and study time! Also excited that their graduation is only a little more than 2 weeks away!!!
Thank you,
Stacy

The Navy
Sometimes, I just want the Navy to go away. I want my little dream of college, marriage, and Bob & I in our cute little fixer-up house with a dog to come back. All of
our dreams were changed when Bob came up with the whole Navy idea. I don't know where it came from, I just don't always like it. I have some days, I call them my 'Navy Days', where I get so frustrated that I just get heart-broken all over again. I am not afraid to tell my boyfriend that either.…

My son has been gone 1 week and 1 day and I came across this wonderful website quite by accident the day he shipped out to BC. Over the last 8 days I have learned so much and have made great friends here and I am thankful. Nobody else can understand our feelings like other Navy mom's so I Thank God everyday for all of you and ask him to Bless each and everyone of you.
Much Love To All of… Continue

Well today is day 5 that Trent has been away and so far I am doing ok. I have moments that I miss him and get really sad but having this site has really helped me to be able to relate to others going through the same thing. I have been writing him everyday and was able to mail my first letter yesterday after getting his address. I can hardly wait until I hear from him by either phone or letter.

Today was an absolutly wonderful day! I went to Everett to see my boyfriend and we brought him home for the night. He is leaving early tomorrow morning, but it is so great just to have him here for a short while. He was so excited to be leaving the ship and is now sleeping in a REAL bed, lol We had a delicious dinner and he was just happy it didnt consist of watery mashed potatoes, macaronie & cheese, or rice. =] I put some pictures up of us, but most of them are him sleeping on the way…

I just visited the Recruit Training Command website again and read it more thoroughly and one of the FAQ was, 'How often will my recruit be able to make phone calls?' This is their answer:
Recruits are only permitted to make three phone calls home during their time onboard Recruit Training Command. However, no news is good news as recruits are granted additional phone calls if something goes wrong (i.e. they are injured, do not pass a test, etc.).
So, I am not going to focus too…

Well, I am into week three of this hurry up and wait game. I have received one 'real' phone call and no real letters, just the form letter and bank information. I carry my phone with me constantly and answer every weird number...and yes, it makes me angry when it is a sales call and not my son! haha
I can't wait to get my first letter or another call just to see how he is holding up. I really pray for him every day that all is well and he will make it through this. He is a bright and…

Ok, it has been a while since I have been on here. Since I last updated, I flew over to Japan and got to spend 3 weeks with my fiancee. Did all the typical tourist traps and some other fun stuff.
Although nothing has been set in stone yet (as those who have been here a while can attest... and those 'youngins' that are engaged or newly married will find out) BUT... it looks like we will be going to California in December. Of course they can't solidify his orders until next fiscal year…

I just love the work the photographers and videographers do that contribute to Navy.mil When people ask "what exactly does your son do/how is he contributing?" I point them to one of their sites or slide shows. Here's a recent one I especially enjoy: http://www.navy.mil/media/OtherMedia/YearInReview/yir08/start_here.html

WATFORD CITY (AP) - Leaving their small towns and farms for the battlefields of Europe and the South Pacific, the young men of McKenzie County became part of a war that both changed the world and shaped their lives.
Nine of those veterans share their World War II memories in an hour-long documentary, "Small Town Soldiers," produced by Watford City native Cody Shimek, a freelance videographer in Minneapolis.
Shimek called the film a labor of love. Although it took years to…
