its hard but workable

when my boyfriend left for bootcamp i thought that my world was falling apart.I felt confused and i couldnt stop crying if i had tried to. I still get that way but it really helps me to get mail from him as much as it helps him to get mail from me. Just last night i couldnt sleep because he was the only thing that i can think about. i find that keeping myself busy helps just not at night when i am ready to go to sleep and hes not there......

Home for Christmas!

My son was able to come home for Christmas. The time went too fast. He went back to Pensacola on Tuesday. It felt gut wrenching, just like when he left for Great Lakes. I keep reminding myself that at least now I can call him and talk to him just about anytime I want. I still miss him though. I am so proud of him and the changes I see in him already. He talks about new friends and plans for the future, opportunities he would have never had in Cumming Georgia! I still miss him.

From SR to Sailor 12/30/2009

After weeks of my son's hard work and my constant prayers (and the prayers of others, too) I received the most wonderful call this afternoon: Mike graduated boot camp and now is a United States Navy Sailor! I am so proud of him I could burst!

His PIR is Jan. 8 and I'm not going to be able to make it. That breaks my heart, and I know he's disappointed, but we're planning on going to see him in the spring.

Congratulations everyone!!

Snow [Snow ball fight anyone? tehe]

I just looked online at the Weather CHannel so I could check out the weather in Chicago for next week, AND.... *drum roll*

IT IS SUPPOSED TO SNOW on both Thursday and Friday and be around 20-24*F on both days. I can not wait to see snow! I haven't seen snow since I was a little girl, tehe. I just might have to make a snow ball and throw it at my Fiance just to start something silly since we were the all time "Silly" couple amongst all of my friends. 9 more days until PIR and 8 more days… Continue

Need help from "seasoned" Navy Mom's.

Hi, I'm planning our meet/greet for my groups PIR and would like some ideas as to how others did theirs. Was it a formal thing with introductions and direction or was it just a hang out do your own thing kinda gathering? Any ideas, suggestions etc. would be greatly appreciated. Also, I've tenatively planned it for Flanagans, but have heard some not so good reviews! Any other places that are good about hosting a meet/greet?

Thanks in advance for your help!!

I Just Miss Him

He fell asleep on the couch. We were all watching tv and he simply fell asleep. I miss him. I wish he would wake up. Maybe if I tickle his toes, he will wake up, but then that would be mean and selfish of me, right? But I miss him. I smile, I chuckle, I grin, I cry. I miss him. He sleeps in front of me and I miss him. I know there are just a few days left of his visit here at home before he travels with the rest of the sons, daughters, mothers and fathers serving our country overseas. It's hard… Continue

Ship 6 Div 911

My Daughter Amanda In div 911 ship 6. Received a phone call today. Couldn't talk to her very long because it was while I was at work. So happy to hear from her. She injured her knee and may delay her graduation. Any comments welcome.

I know what I am to my step daughter!

Hi too all my friends. I just wanted to drop a line and tell you my problem. Sorry I know everyone else is having problems right now. But, I have lived with this one for over 10 years now. And still living threw it. I'm a step-mom. In law and papers I'm not blood. But it does not take blood or a paper to be a good mom. All I know is that a person is on this site trying to make me look bad. I'm very happy with my self and will never change. If this mother was sure she had a good part in her… Continue

Another milestone!

I am so happy to report that my LO, who is leaving for OCS on Friday night, passed his oral exam and final check ride today, and is now a licensed pilot! While this was not a pre req for OCS, it was a goal to be achieved for 2009, and it is great that Mike takes off with this achieved - adds to the confidence level. Now spending the next four days at the gym and getting his gear ready to go.
