A wonderful Poem...For Memorial day and every day...
I watched the flag pass by one day.
It fluttered in the breeze.
A young marine saluted it,
and then he stood at ease.
I looked at him in uniform
so young, so tall, so proud,
With hair cut square and eyes alert.
He’d stand out in any crowd.
I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil?
How many mothers’ tears?
How many pilots’ planes shot down?
How many died at sea?
How many foxholes were so…

Mothers Day Poems
More Than A Mother
When God set the world in place,
when He hung the stars up in space,
when He made the land and the sea,
then He made you and me.
He sat back and saw all that was good,
He saw things to be as they should.
Just one more blessing He had in store;
He created a mother, but whatever for?
He knew a mother would have a special place
to shine His reflection on her child's face.
A mother will walk the ext…

I sit in a quite house, working on my son's Navy Scrapebook, trying hard not to cry with each photo.
He fly out of Kansas City, back to Chicago yesterday. He is enjoying one day in the city before reporting in. He stayed at a Hilton Hotel in downtown last night for $99.00. He said the normal rate for his room was $300.00. I told him I wanted photos of what a $300/per night room looked like. I've never been in one. He told me he felt out of place. He went to the Navy Pier last night and hung out,…

PIR was the happiest day for me! Having my son in my arms was the best Christmas gift I could have dreamed of.
The event itself was really awsome! It looked as if they worked for weeks just on it. I know that Joseph says they praticed only once but wow it didn't look that way.
I still remember how proud I was when I first spoted him in the ranks! I teared up. I wanted to just go right out then and hug him so tight. I didn't think it would ever be time for that. Then we they released them for lea…

I got my call yesterday telling me that Joseph had passed Battlestations! It was a real call NOT 2 minutes. We talked for 45 minutes. It was Heaven! He seemed so grown up, and I miss him so. His was the first group to go through Battlestations for thier PIR date. So now he can relax and just hang out until PIR in 6 days!!
Never had no doubts he'd make it through. He's never failed anything he had wanted before so why start now?

As, some of you know, my mother had a stroke just one week before Joseph left for bootcamp. It wasn't a really bad one, but still has been filling up my days with caring for her. She had a scare again yesterday. Some of the medications she is on became reacting with each other causing the level of others to go sky high. She became non-responsive and we took her into the ER again. After 5 hours of test thats the result they gave us. We were told to discontinue one all together and stop another un…

I will cry without shedding tears
Cringe without showing my fears
Pray without moving my lips
Dream always of incoming ships
For I am the mother of a U.S. Sailor
I found this on another's mother's page...I borrowed it from her.

I am a small and precious child, my dads been sent to fight.
The only place I'll see his face, is in my dreams at night.
He will be gone too many days for my young mind to keep track.
I may be sad, but I am proud. My daddies got your back.
I am a caring mother. My son has gone to war..
My mind is filled with worries that I have never known before.
Everyday I try to keep my thoughts from turning black.
I may be scared, but I am proud..My son has got your back..
I am a strong and loving wife, with…
