Navy For Moms

Okay, let me keep this simple:

“Everybody love everybody” – Jackie Moon in the movie Semi- Pro

This is a community were we want everyone to feel comfortable. I understand that there will be times where you will want to disagree with another member. So if you get upset, and you write it on the public boards, note that hundreds of others will read it, including new moms who kids are thinking about joining the navy. Is that the impression we want to give them? No. We are all adults. We are all mothers here (err. or related to a loved one in the Navy). The number one reason we are here is to support, help, share and listen. If you have an issue you want to take up- then kindly PM (private message) me OR that person you have an issue with and deal with in a civil manner. Okay. “Everybody love Everybody”- pretty please. Thank you. Sincerely, Catherine

I just foung this site last night. I think it maybe a true blessing. Most sites are for wives (understandably), not much I have found for moms. I have my support contacts to call while Seth is in Iraq. I have a hard time talking to anyone right now. I don't mean to be selfish. He is my youngest son, my "breath of fresh air" and I miss him so much. I can't imaging what he is doing or going through right now. Our house is so empty without his loud gift of sense of humor. All I want to do is just quit my job and do things to volunteer for anything that would help our troops. Of course I cannot afford to quit my job, but I can give 3 days a week. Any suggestions? This is all new to me, I want to do my part, no, I must do my part!!

Hi Sandra this is exactly how i felt my when son left less than a month ago . . . and he's my only son. I still tear eyed every time I talk about him . . . but it's comforting to know that you're not alone in this situation. Good luck.

Hi. This is my first night on the site and I have to admit, I've very happy to have been informed about it.

Although my son has not left for boot camp yet....I know that I will probably be a blubbering fool when he does. The thought that he might be deployed to Iraq in the coming months or years scares me to death but I know that he won't be alone. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the Navy moms out there!!! Please know that you are supported!

Hi, I remember when my son left for bc. I mananged to keep the tears at bay until I walked out of the airport. I didn't want him to see me cry, I didn't want to cry while I was there with him. I saved it. My saving grace was that I had to go work, That was my out to get me out of the airport terminal. but trust me, once I got out of the terminal, the tears let go. its been 2 yrs since he joined up and I couldn't be prouder of him. Good luck to all you new Navy moms.
